+WHAT IS
BULLYING?
Bullying is unwanted,
aggressive behavior among
school-aged children that
involves a real or perceived
power imbalance. The
behavior is repeated and has
the potential to be repeated
overtime. Both kids who
bully and are bullied may
have long lasting problems.

3 Main types of bullying

1. Verbal Bullying (saying mean
things)
a. Includes: teasing,
name-calling,
inappropriate
comments, taunting, etc

children to not be
friends with someone,
spreading rumors,
embarrassing someone,
etc.

persons body or possessions)
a. Includes: hitting,

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY
CHILD IS BEING BULLIED?
If you are concerned about whether or
not your child is being bullied there are
things we can look for. If your child has
unexplainable injuries or lost/destroyed
things this is a definite red flag. Watch
out for a change in eating habits,

begin to decline or they no longer want
to go to school this is also something we
need to watch out for. This is not always
the case but if your child has a sudden
loss of friends or does not want to go to
a social setting that he/she used to you
may want to look further into it. Lastly,
if they are starting to perform selfdestructive behaviors then we need to
act on the issue sooner.
