Check Backlash With FANUC Controller
Check Backlash With FANUC Controller
BNC22 & 26
Please follow the procedures as below.
1. Refer to the following procedure to ensure the gibs are tightening of X-axis and
Z-axis.
a. Put the magnetic base on the carriage and place the indicator on the Z-axis guide
way as below picture. (See Fig. 1)
b. Move the Z-axis forward and backward to see if the straightness of Z-axis is within
0.03mm~0.01mm (See Fig. 1).
Fig. 1
c. If the straightness is out of requirement 0.03mm~0.01mm, please take off the wiper
parts (#73,#74,#99) and adjust the gibs (#68,#76,#77) deeper. (See Fig.2)
Fig. 2
d. Put the magnetic base on Z-axis guideway and place the indicator on the Cross
slide as below picture. (See Fig. 3)
e. Move the X-axis forward and backward to see if the straightness of X-axis is within
0.03mm~0.01mm (See Fig. 3).
f. If the straightness is out of requirement 0.03mm~0.01mm, please take off the wiper
parts (#12,#13,#14) and adjust the gibs (#15) deeper. (See Fig.4)

#Motor loading: requirement< ???% while the Z movement. If the backlash and
motor loading are too large, it means the gib over-tight.
Please loosen the gib again and retighten.
2. Refer to the following procedure to check the backlashes of X-axis and Z-axis.
a. Cancel the original compensation of the parameter P1851 on X-axis and
Z-axis.
b. Put the magnetic base on Z-axis guide way and place the indicator on the disk of
turret as shown in 2 red circles of photo below. (See Fig. 5)
