Looking Back

Theme- It was great to learn about love and friendship with the kids for that last
two weeks. The kids made friendship bracelets for one another, created a friendship
chain and painted a circle of friendship. Our Friendship party was a blast too! The
kids had a great time with their friends playing games and eating a delicious snack.

Kindergarten Round
Up!

Kindergarten Round-Up meetings


will be held for parents on
Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 at your
childs elementary they will be
attending. The meeting will offer
parents information
in preparation for your child
entering kindergarten or
prekindergarten in the fall.
Information will be the same at
each time/location so parents are
welcome to attend the time that
works best for them. If you
attend in another location, please
drop off the registration form at
your attendance area building. Check
Hudsonvilles website for more
details.

Handwriting Without Tears (HWT)- Math- We have been learning about patterns.
The kids play with our pattern bears to create AB and ABB patterns.
Language Arts- We started to get into learning about rhymes. Dr. Seuss books are
the best for the kids to find words that rhyme.
Zoo Phonics- We are continuing with our zoo books. Our letters last week was D and
P. We walked in the hallway like penguins and added dots to our DeeDee Deer zoo
friend.
Socio-Emotional Lessons- We are learning how to play fairly with friends. So far
weve learned about trading toys, taking turns and playing together.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Theme- We are learning about

dinosaurs. The kids are making their


own fossils and dinosaur masks. Weve
read a lot of books about them and
are going to watch an educated movie
about it.
March is Spirit Month- For the entire
month of March, we will be having many
special days. We will celebrate Dr. Seuss
birthday, wear silly socks and dress up like
superheroes. Please refer to your March
Calendar for all the dates of our silly, fun
days.
LANA Program- We had a lot of fun
learning about nutrition last week. LANA

will take place twice a month on


Thursdays as indicated on our calendar.
End of the Year Celebration- This
will take place on Thursday, May 28 at
6:30. More details to come.
Progress Reports- Going home on
February 20. If youd like to set up a
conference, let me know and we can set
up a time.
Star Student- Our star
student is Tom! Tom
loves to play games
with his brother and
eat pizza!

Hand Writing Without Tears:

Zoo Phonics:

We are starting to learn about rhyming. We


are also continuing with our journal writing.
This helps them with their handwriting, and
sentence making.

We are continuing with our zoo books.


Letters of the week coming up is B and R.
We are working on matching lower case and
upper case letters.
