SCOPE OF WORK
1.1General Description
This procedure describes the sequence of commissioning activities,
equipments, tools and resources required for FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
at Shedgum where in accordance with relevant sections of Saudi
Aramco Project specifications, Fire Alarm and Detection Systems
and NFPA 3. Commissioning activity will be started after completion
of equipment installation & physical inspection.
1.2 Tools and Equipment
The following Tool and equipment will be used as and when
necessary to carry out pre-commissioning activities.

1.3 Ready for Pre-Commissioning


The works are ready for pre-commissioning when the company has
issued a certificate for installation completion and notification in writing
that the works is ready for pre-commissioning.
1.4 Commissioning Activities
Commissioning activities are to be performed after completion of a piece of
equipment or system to make it safe and ready for commissioning. This
includes, but not limited to

. Performance of all remaining works other than commissioning &


functional test.

The completion of all inspections.

. The items for which a defect notice are issued to be rectified and
and all defect notices shall have been closed out.

.Checking & Site Modifications


. Make available necessary tools required to carry out activities.
. Trouble Shoot the devices and modules in order to make panel normal.
. Program the panel as per Saudi Aramco requirement.
. Perform functional test of the system prior to final testing.
. Availability of trained engineers.
.Notify 24hrs in advance Saudi Aramco Engineer prior to
commencement of pre-commissioning activities.

EXECUTION OF PRE-COMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES


Contractor shall complete all pre-commissioning activities in accordance
with guidelines given in Saudi ARAMCO Standards/Pre-commissioning
forms. Contractor shall write necessary procedures and obtain approval
from Company prior to commencing work and shall carry out the work

in accordance with approved procedures.

PROCEDURES

Check detector layout, alarm bells and others accessories were


installed as per approved drawings.
Check the continuity for all the loop lines, conductor to conductor
resistance.
Make sure electric head of Novec 1230 are not connected to
cylinders.
The installed equipments will be inspected and the integrity of the
installation verified.
Mechanical test will comprise of a physical inspection
installation and termination of each cables and equipment.

Each field device must be individually tested to ensure that it


transmits the correct signal to FACP through loops.
Connect the loops to the panel and power the panel AC & DC.
