Crescent Sighting Invitation

Ruia’ti Hilal Majlis, International is inviting observers to help determine the first day of the next Islamic month of ZulQa’dah by looking for the new crescent moon in the western sky after sunset on August 29, 2015. Observers should submit their observations of either seeing or not seeing the crescent moon on the organization's website and provide details of their location, time of observation, weather conditions, and number of observers. The objectives are to inform people around the world of the start of each Islamic month so they can perform the associated rituals and teach the true beliefs and real teachings of Islam.

Dear Observer,

Assalaamu Alaikum.
Ruiati Hilal Majlis, International is inviting you to participate in seeking the crescent to determine the
1st day of As-Shahru ZulQadah Shareef (1436).
The next Zero Moon (New Moon) will occur on 14th August, 2015 at 14:53 hrs.
Please try and observe the crescent in the western sky on 29th As-Shahrus Shawwal Shareef after sunset.
Observations, both positive and negative, should be submitted at Majlisu Ruiatil Hilal: www.al-hilaal.net
Our Objectives:
To inform people around the world of the first day of every Islamic month so that they can perform rituals related to that month.
We also want to inform people the true beliefs and real teachings of Islam.
Your Duties:
All members are requested to provide us crescent sighting report at the beginning of every Islamic month.
You can also ask different questions related to Shariah to know the right answer. Please visit www.al-ihsan.net
How to do it:
Find a westerly facing spot with a clear view of the horizon.
Wait for the sun to set, and then look for the crescent.
Use only your bare eyes. Dont use binocular and telescope. (If you want to locate the crescent then it is allowed but make sure you
see the crescent by the bare eyes.)
Make sure you see the crescent, not any cloud or vapor trail.
Make a note, where you were, the date and time of your observation, the weather condition and how many people were with you.
