DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
Thapar University is well known for its technology education and research for more than half

a century. No amount of scientific discovery can take birth to add to societal benefit unless imbued with
collective human effort known as Management. Hence, a seamless blend of technology and management is
necessary in this evolution. With this in view, the Institute has launched three areas of Business Management
with focus respectively on IT- Networking, Operations and Energy that will aid the Indian vis-a-vis global
industry of today and tomorrow.
Our University is located in Patiala - a city which is as steeped in tradition as it is attuned to the needs of the
future. Patiala enjoys convenient links with the rest of the world while being nestled in the pristine
environment of the Punjab. The ebullient cultural heritage of this erstwhile princely state has nurtured a
unique style of Indian classical music, Patiala Gharana. Its zest for life has given this part of the world its
distinctive cuisine, music and dance and sports. Our students are imbued with this fascinating way of life
through sports facilities and culture clubs.
Thapar Technology Campus is synonymous with a diverse community that is committed to scholarship,
entrepreneurship, research and development. Our University is ranked amongst India's top technical
universities by independent research organizations. The combination of programs, facilities and above all the
people has created a learning experience that is stimulating, supportive and challenging, while providing a
competitive edge. We do all that along with equal commitment to social causes. The entire community
volunteers in social projects on education, hygiene and skill development among the underprivileged
humanity. I feel, that makes the Thapar experience very satisfying.

through their managerial capabilities and the values we have emphasized upon. Our aim is to actively
assist you in attracting and identifying the individuals best suited for your needs and in developing a
win-win relationship between the corporate, the students and the Institute.

Thapar
University
The school activities are aimed at developing amongst students a culture of inquiry, a perennial pursuit of the
unknown and the unrevealed, and a research mindset through a highly intensive and collaborative academic
programme. A dynamic link with the industries involves activities like curriculum design and development,
curriculum delivery, mentoring of students by senior managers and professionals from the world of industry,
summer internship projects, fortnightly CEO lectures and campus recruitment for final year students
The school thus visualizes that, in not to distant a future, management will have to talk with technology
more intimately and hence this stride in blending technology with management education. This will
create a new breed of Techno-managers who are well equipped with knowledge to face the stark
realities of business uncertainty and yet create value out of the techno-economic intricacies and complexities
of 21st century.
