Bjig 39 Glory of Christ 2 Cor 4 4 8 29 15

The document discusses 1 Corinthians 4:4 and whether it shows that Jesus is God. It presents the argument that Jesus being called the "image of God" in this passage does not mean that Jesus is himself God. It notes that we too are made in God's image, so being an image does not equate to being the person or thing itself. The document concludes that nothing about 1 Corinthians 4:4 proves that Jesus is God.

39 The glory of Christ, who is the image of God

Last updated 08/15/15

Some say if Jesus is the image of God, in 1 Corinthians 4:4, then he is God
On the face of it this might seem like a valid argument, however I will show that this interpretation is an incorrect
conclusion and that 2 Corinthians 4:4 does NOT show Jesus to be God.

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god (Theos) of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see
the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image (G1504/Eikon) of God.
Summary:
Jesus is made in the image of God his Father.
We are made in the image of God our Father
Therefore nothing about this passage shows Jesus to be God.
There is an in depth analysis at 02J Jesus is the Image of God linked here that will show that nothing about that
means that Jesus is God.
Whether you agree or disagree, in part or in whole, big or small, please email me any feedback to help improve the
study. I would also appreciate any help with its logic, grammar, typos, editing etc. Your question to ask will be, is
the final conclusion supported and proven by the rest of the study?
