VITON
Description
FKM or VITON or Fluorcarbonate rubber. This is a hexafluoropropylene vinylidene fluoride.
Properties
Extraordinary resistance to heat ,in continuous heat of up to 250C and intermittent heat of up to
300C.
Satisfactory resistance to low temperatures (-30C / 50C)
Self-extinguishing and resistance to ozone and the elements is practically unlimited.
Excellent compression set in compression at high temperatures.
Resistance to chemicals; of all the other synthetic rubbers these are the most resistant to
hydrocarbons, aliphatic as well as aromatics and chlorinated. Extremely resistant to alkalies,
including oxidants. On the other hand ethers and cetones cause considerable swelling.
