How To Setup DeskLock

To set up DeskLock on Windows 2000 or XP: log in as an administrator, open the DeskLock program from the Start menu, select Set Up DeskLock, configure the desired automatic logon and lock settings in the Microsoft Management Console, enter the password for the current user, and restart the system. This will enable DeskLock to automatically log the user on and disable the logon and shutdown commands.

How to Set Up DeskLock

1. Log on to Windows 2000 or Windows XP as a User with administrator rights.


2. Click Start > Programs > Rockwell Software > RSView32 Tools >Win2k XP DeskLock.

3. In the DeskLock window click Set Up DeskLock.


4.In the Logon tab, click Open the Microsoft Management Console for DeskLock.

5. In the Management Console, choose the desired settings and close the window.

6. In the Logon tab, select the Automatically Logon to Windows checkbox.

7. Enter the password for the currently logged-in user. The Domain and User name must be the
same ones you used to log in. The user must have been created in the Windows 2000 or
Windows XP User Manager and have administrator rights.
8. Click OK to save the changes and then restart your system.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP will now automatically logon with the user and domain specified
in DeskLock Setup, and the logon and shut down commands you have specified will be disabled.
