Car riders and walkers:


Mr. Carrillo will open car doors, until 7:25, and direct scholars down the sidewalk to
enter the building. At 7:25, Mr. Carrillo will report to the gym to monitor.
Ms. Valcin will greet scholars at the door with a handshake and direct them towards
Ms. Arellano who will stand at the other end of the hallway to direct scholars down the
library hallway and towards the cafeteria.
Ms. Rodriguez will help scholars proceed down the hallway towards the cafeteria.
Scholars will enter the cafeteria through the designated door, and Ms. Duerr will direct
scholars to the appropriate (K-2, 3-5) breakfast line or to the gym.

Bus riders:
Mr. Dominguez greets bus riding scholars with a handshake at the bus circle door.
Car riders/walkers All 4th and 5th grade math/science scholars will report directly to the cafeteria, and

Adults will walk scholars from gym to pod areas in a 4S line.


All kindergarten teachers will pick up their classes in the gym at 7:23.
Grades 3 and 4-5 RLA lines will file out of the two gym doors down the hall silently,
starting with 5th grade exiting through the left side door and 4th grade through the right
side door, followed by 3rd grade through the left side door (after 5th). Grades 1-2 will
file out of the gym via the divider doors into the cafeteria (1st grade on the right side
and 2nd grade on the left), and exit the cafeteria by the two cafeteria doors, then
proceed down the halls silently.
Adults will deliver 4s lines to teachers at the threshold of their pod area as follows:
Mr./Ms. Qs scholars, take one step to the left. Adult will ensure a 4S line; scholars
will proceed to meet their teacher at the threshold of the classroom.
All kindergarten teachers will pick up their classes in the gym at 7:23.
Scholars not in 4s will be asked to Do It Again (39)
Once breakfast period ends, Ms. Duerr will release the cafeteria doors (rope) so they
close.
Grade level teacher establish threshold (41) from 7:23-7:30.
Teachers ensure all scholars are in dress code with shirt tucked in.
o Teacher notes all dress code violations via email to the nurse, Ms. Salinas, and
copy department lead, either Dominguez or Valcin, by 8:00 a.m.
o Front office will call teacher when scholar should be sent to office to change
clothes.

1. Greet teacher at the door with a hug, handshake or high-five.

4. Put backpack and coat in cubby
5. Begin Do Now (29). Do Now will be completed within the first 10 minutes of a

Lunch

Scholars will proceed towards the lunch line.
As scholars pass their table, those not purchasing a lunch will sit.
All scholars have seats assigned by teacher
Teacher will remain at threshold to monitor scholars in the line, and those sitting at
their lunch table.
Teachers will hold scholars accountable for lunchroom manners by issuing s for
scholars exhibiting excellence during the lunch room period.
Teacher will move to end of lunch-line threshold and monitor both the scholars
purchasing lunches and the scholars already seated. .
Scholars purchasing lunch with say please and thank you to cafeteria staff.

Eating Time

Recess duty teachers are responsible for restroom/water breaks which are included
in the 30 minute recess period.
Scholars should remain in a 4S line, exit the cafeteria, and move down the hallway
toward the gym to exit the building. Teacher establishes thresholds as appropriate
during transition.
Exit the building on the gym side of the building and walk all the way down the
recess sidewalk.
Teachers establish a threshold at the black gate which leads to the playground.
Teachers should actively monitor scholars during the entire recess period.
Teachers reiterate recess expectations prior to releasing scholars to play area.
o Always play where you can see teacher
o Big kids stay off of little kids equipment, and vice versa
o Be aware of whistles (3 minute rule)

Teachers organize scholars in departure lines by method of transportation; bus


riders should be grouped by bus number. Teachers prop classroom doors open to
assist with dismissing walkers and car riders to designated adult.
Primary begins at 2:20; Ms. Campuzano and Ms. Arellano begin with 1 st grade
picking up walkers and car riders, then kindergarten, then second grade; and
deliver them to walker/car rider duty team.
Intermediate begins at 2:25; Ms. Ballestas and Ms. Molina begin with 3rd grade
picking up walkers and car riders, then 5th grade, then 4th and Ms. Goldens class;
and deliver them to walker/car rider duty team.
Walkers and car riders will sit in the front hallway (labeled) facing the east end of
the building (the door through which they will exit). Scholars will sit in the order
they arrive.

Primary and Intermediate teachers and scholars exits their classrooms once their
car rider and walker scholars have been picked up; teachers escort bus riders to the
gym and remain to monitor scholars.
Teachers are to guard the classroom threshold as scholars exit the room.
Teachers designate a spot in the hall (outside of classroom door) where their
scholars are to form a 4S line and await transition to departure area.
All scholars are to remain in a 4S line throughout the entire transition to the
gym/cafeteria and walker/car rider dismissal area.
All adults should narrate positive scholar behavior as they see it. Be sure to narrate
the positive with the negative at a ratio of at least 3 to 1.
Every bend, corner, and door is considered a threshold. Teachers are to constantly
position themselves so that they can guard both sides of all thresholds.
Specials team will escort their scholars to dismissal locations, then report to their
dismissal duty station. Second and third grade RLA teachers will report to dismissal
duty at 2:25.
As scholars enter the bus rider and car rider/walker areas they are to immediately
go to and sit in their designated area.

The dismissal areas are to be silent. Scholars may read a book from the book box
while they wait.
All adults are to be actively monitoring their class or designated area. Voice level is
at zero for all adults and scholars. Narrate positive scholar behavior at a ratio of at
least 3 to 1.
Scholars will not be allowed to use the bathrooms once dismissal has begun.

Bus riders:
As teachers and scholars enter the gym (K-2 enters by way of the cafeteria),
scholars will sit in rows by grade level and in homeroom groups. Teachers will
create a second line, as needed.
Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Ponce will assist teachers and scholars as they enter the
dismissal area.
Ms. Duerr will monitor in the hallway just outside of the cafeteria near the bus
circle exit.
Mr. Carrillo (outside) will get numbers of buses in order as they arrive and report to
Ms. Cisneros (stationed near cafeteria doors) via the radio. Ms. Cisneros will
announce to teachers bus numbers and exit door for loading (i.e., Bus #23 front
door; Bus #75 back door)
Designated homeroom teachers, Ms. Ponce and Ms. Rodriguez will escort scholars
through the front/back door to the buses. The remaining homeroom teachers will
continue to monitor scholars in the dismissal area.
Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Ponce and teacher escorts report back to the dismissal area to
continue monitoring scholars.
Car riders/walkers:
Mr. Fernandez will use the radio to call Ms. Molina to dismiss scholars as their
cars/parents arrive.
Ms. Molina will call the scholars by name (or group); scholars will walk towards Ms.
Campuzano who will usher them out to Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Torres (cars) or
their parent (walkers).
