Topic: Rights and Responsibilities of workers

Stage 1- Desired Results you may use student friendly language


What do they need to understand, know, and/or able to do?
Students need to understand their rights and responsibilities within the workplace.
Outcome(s):
9.10 - Assess the role of health promotion in making healthy decisions related to
comprehensive approaches to safety, non-curable infection/diseases, romantic
relationships, healthy food policies, addictions, tragic death and suicide, chronic illness,
and sexual health.

PGP Goals:
Curricular 3:Demonstrates the capacity to engage in program planning to shape 'lived
curriculum' that brings learner needs, subject matter, and contextual variables together
in developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive and meaningful ways.

Stage 2- Assessment
Assessment FOR Learning (formative) Assess the students during the learning to help
determine next steps.
Make sure all students are actively participating in the activity and understanding the
explanations while placing them intentionally into categories.

Assessment OF Learning (summative) Assess the students after learning to evaluate


what they have learned.
Reading out the correct answers and asking how many were not placed in the correct
columns

Stage 3- Learning Plan


Motivational/Anticipatory Set (introducing topic while engaging the students)
Get students to play a game where students categorize the rights and responsibilities of
an employee and an employer

Main Procedures/Strategies:
After motivational game is complete go over the list of what the responsibilities of an
employee and employer are

Closing of lesson:
Get kids to write out the lists that they made into their notebooks so that they can
retains as much information as possible.

Personal Reflection:
I thought that the students were engaged throughout the game portion of this lesson plan
but did not keep the same level of engagement throughout the lesson. I would like to
think up alternate ways of reading out the correct answers. The students also do not like
to read aloud in this particular class.
