Pre-Vatican ll, the focus of the Catholic Church had shifted from
preparing all the baptised for missions to focusing on the power of
the ordained to transform bread and wine.

Sacrosanctum Concilium, Dei Verbum and Lumen Gentium.
Gaudium et Spes articulated how the Catholic Church would relate
to the modern world from Vatican II onwards.
