Boveda for Our Indian Ancestors
Hermana, the statue that you are speaking to me of seams to be a statues
to
bring apon money, or for good business. This is usually represented by
the
glitter sprinkled apon the statue, since the glitter is usually used to
represent gold, money or riches. Honestly I do not think this is the
kind of
statue that should be placed on a boveda. This certain statue should be
kept,
usually towards the front door, as it is elegadly suppose to help bring
money
to the home.
Also it depends on what kind of statue of a Native American Indian it
is, if it
has war paint, and a bow and arrow, the no this statue should not go on
your
boveda. The statue that is good on a boveda to symbolize your native
American
ancestry, would be of a Great Cacique, in a sitting position, with a
peaceful
expression on his face, and his legs crossed. As the legs crossed
represent
the four corners of the universe. The Four corners of which the Eggungun
reside.
Yes you can prepare the statue, and you do not have to be initiated to
perform
this minor rite. It is basically simple, and almost the same way you
would
prepare a Madama, or a Candelo. The only people I would trust making
these
talisman statues would be my Padrino, and of course my self.
These are the things you are going to need.
1) Indian Statue 2) one (1) indian arrow head
3) Red cloth 4) River water
5) 9 small thunder stones 6) cigar
7) Rum or Aguardiente 8) 9 parrot or black rooster feathers
10) dirt from forest, cemetery, court house, and police station
11) corojo butter 12) 4 Cowrie shells
13) 3 quarts crystal 14) 14 day white candles
15) 7 miniature tools
You will also need these herbs.. Siempre Viva, Yerba de Sangre,
Espartilla,
and Yerba Santa.
When you purchase the statue make sure that it sits beside you, as you
take it
home, buckle it up, as you do not want it to fall forwards. Bring it
home,
and cleanse it lightly with blessed water and salt, to remove any
unwanted
vibrations that may linger. Separate the herbs into half, with one half
prepare a omiero using the river water, some rum, the herbs, and a small
portion of the corojo butter. Then ritually cleanse the statue with the
omiero, and towel dry with a brand new white towel. Set aside.
Place ingredient 2, 5, 8,12, 13 and 15 red into the omiero, and also
cleanse
them.. Let them sit, in the omiero. Take the statue and make sure it is
the
kind with the cheese cloth at the bottom that covers the whole within
the
statue. Open it up lightly, and spray it nine times with a mist of rum
from
your mouth, giving it some of your ASHE. Do the same with the cigar.
Then take the items that are within the omiero and place them on top of
the red
cloth, add the rest of the dried herbs, and 9 coins, one of your birth
year,
and other years that have been of great importance in your life. Tie the
red
cloth tightly over all the implements, and place this within the statue.
Put
a little glue on the cheese cloth, and recover the hole. Bring the
statue, to
where it will be least disturbed for nine days. Light the candles, and
pray
to the Guardian who will reside within the statue. Lightly cleanse the
out
side of the statue with corojo butter, rum, and cigar smoke. For nine
days
afterwards bring the statue offerings of yams, yucca, yautia, indian
corn, and
corn meal prepared with hot water, and formed into balls boilled with
tiny bits of cod fish.
Make sure to present your self to the statue every night at the same
time for
nine days. With food offerings (no salt), liquor, cafe, dark no sugar or
cream. For 9 days at the same time give it prayers, offerings, and
devotion.
The spirit will be present on the first day, but will be observant on
how
devoted you are towards him/her. The more devoted you are to it on these
9
days, the more devoted it will be towards you, for the rest of your
life.
Last note, these indian spirits, can get very attached to there human
devote,
and at times can become very jealous, I suggest you prepare a statue of
the
opposite sex, for your Indian, as at times the Spirit is so protective
of you
that it will drive potential love interests away. Trust me I speak from
experience...
