CRYING PROFUSELY FOR REPENTANCE .

ON INQUIRING HE TOLD THE BLESSED IMAMS THAT

HE WAS A HABITUAL SINNER WHO CONSTANTLY
INSULTED & BEAT UP HIS FATHER . ONE DAY
HIS FATHER CURSED HIM AND HE BECAME
PARALYZED .
THE MAN BEGGED WITH HIS FATHER FOR

FORGIVENESS
 DUA MASHLOOL
. THE FATHER AGREED TO PRAY TO ALLAH ( SWT ) TO REVERSE
THE CURSE . THE FATHER AND HIS SON SET
OUT TOWARDS THE HOLY CITY TO ASK FOR
REPENTANCE BUT THE FATHER DIED ON THE
WAY

ON HEARING THIS SAD TALE , IMAM ALI ( AS )

IMMEDIATELY WROTE THIS DUA AND ASKED
THE MAN TO RECITE IT AFTER ISHA
SALAAT

THE NEXT DAY THE MAN CAME TO IMAM

ALI (AS ) FULLY CURED
 DUA MASHLOOL

HE SAID HE RECITED THE DUA AS
INSTRUCTED .

THAT SAME NIGHT HE SAW THE HOLY

PROPHET ( SAWW ) IN HIS DREAM , GENTLY
TOUCHED HIS PARALYSED BODY . WHEN
HE WOKE UP HE WAS CURED .

IMA M HUSSEIN SAID THIS DUA

ISME AZAM , THE GREATEST NAME OF
ALLAH ( SWT )
 DUA MASHLOOL

PLEASE RECITE THIS DUA AFTER ISHA
SALAAT
MUST BE IN A STATE OF PURITY ( WUDHU )

THE RECITER WILL INSHALLAH BE CURED

OF ILLNESS , POVERTY WILL BE
ALEVIATED , HIS / HER SINS WILL BE
FORGIVEN AND HE WILL BE PROTECTED
FROM SHAYTAN AND ALL OTHER EVIL

the Name of Allah, the Most

yaa d'al jaalale wal ikaraame

O Lord of Majesty and

Generosity ;
 yaa h'ayyo yaa qayyoom

O Living ; O Self -
Subsisting ,

O ever living , there is

no God but you


yaa huwa yaa mal-laa ya'lamo maa

huwa walaa kaifa huwa

of whom no one knows what " He " is ,

nor how "He" is,


walaa aina huwa walaa h'aitho huwa

illa huwa

Nor how " He " is , nor where " He "

is , except " He .


yaa d'al mulke wal malaakoot

O Lord of the Great Kingdom and

Supremacy.

O Lord of might and

Ya mal-lam yalid walam yoolad

O he who does not give birth nor was

he born

walam yakullahu kufowan
ah'ad

And none is equal to

him


Wa lam yakul lahu s'aahebah

And he who has no

companion


walaa kaana maahu wazeer

Nor any Vizier


Walat takhad'a maa'ahu
musheer

nor has he taken any

advisor


Wa lah'taaja ila z'aheer

nor does he need any

assistant


wala kaa na maahu min Illahi

ghairu

nor is there with you any

other God ;


Laa illaha illa ant

There is no GOD but you

fata a'alaita a'amma yaqooluz'
z'aalemoo na o'luwwan
kabeera

you are far exalted with great
excellence above all that which
the unjust say about you

still forgives
O he who is not encompassed by

Nor perceived by vision

walaa yakhfa a'laihi athar

And from whom no trace

remains hidden

yaa mukadira kulli qadar

O determiner of every
lot
 yaa a'aleyal makaani

O he who is of Exalted
position ;


yaa shadeedal arkaan

O firm in support

 ya a m o b a d d ila z'z'a m a a n

O Changer of times ;


yaa qaa belal qurban

O Acceptor of
sacrifices

O possessor of graciousness and

favors
 Yad'al i'z zate wassult'aan

O possessor of might and

force
 yaa rah'eemu yaa rah'maan

O All Merciful , O most

Compassionate
 yaa man huwa kulla yaumin
fee sha-nin

O he who has each day a

distinctive Glory
while no aspect of Thy Glory
is erased
by the prominence of another
aspect


yaa man howa bekulli makaan

O he who is in every place

 yaa saamea'al as'waat

O Hearer of all sounds

 yaa mujeebad daa'a-waat

O Answerer of prayers
 yaa munjeh'at' t'alabaat

O he who fulfils all

requirements
 yaa qaaziyal h'aajaat

O Fulfiller of all
needs
 yaa munzilal barakaat

O he who sends down blessings



yaa raahimal a'baraat

O he who has mercy on our

tears

 yaa muqeelal a'tharaat

O he who annuls errors



yaa kaashifal kurubaat

O he who removes troubles
 yaa waleeyal h'asanaat

O he who is the Cherisher of good

deeds


Yaa rafia Darajaat

O he who raises men in rank and

degree
 yaa mutiyas sulaat

O he who agrees to
requests ;


yaa muh'yiyal amwaati

O he that brings the dead to life
 yaa jaa miash shataat

O he that gathers together that

which is scattered.


yaa mut'alian a'lan niyaate

O he that is informed of all

intentions
 yaa raadda maaqad faat

O he that restores that which

has been lost


yaa man laa tash tabeho a'laihil

as'waato

O he that is never confused

by a multiplicity of voices
 yaa malaa tuzjirohul mas-alaat

O he that is not annoyed by

requests


Walaa tagh shaahuzzulumaat

and Whom no darkness can hide or

O ample in blessings

O Averter of Calamities

O Gatherer of nations

O Healer of disease


yaa khaaleqal noori wazulam

O Creator of light and

darkness
 Yad'al joode wal karam

Lord of bounties and

generosity


yaa man laa yat'au a'rshahu

qadam

O he upon whose throne no one

can set foot
 yaa ajwadal ajwadeena

O he who is more munificent than

the most munificent


yaa akramal akrameen

O he who is more generous

than the most generous
 yaa asma-a's saamee'en

O most hearing of the

hearers ;


Yaa Absaran Naazireen

O seeing than the most

perceiving
 yaa jaa ral mustajeereena

O protector of those seeking

protection

O sanctuary of the fearful

 yaa z'ahral laa jeena

O Asylum of the Refugees

yaa waliy-yal mumineen

O sponsor of the
believers


yaa ghia yaathal mustaghitheen

O helper of those that seek

O goal of the seekers

yaa s'aah'eba kulli ghareeb

O Companion of every stranger

O friend of the lonely ones

 outcast

yaa ma-waa kulle shareed

O shelter for every

wanderer
 yaa h'aafez'a kulle z"aaallat

O Guardian of all those who stray



yaa raahimash shaykhil kabeer

O he who is merciful to
the old
 yaa raazeqat t'iflis' s'a-gheer

O he who nourishes the little

infants


yaa jaaberal a'z'mil kaseer

O he that joins together broken

bones
 yaa faakka kulle aseer

O he who Releases all the

prisoners


yaa mughneyal baaaesil faqeer

O he who enriches the

miserable needy

O Protector of the frightened

refugees


yaa malahut tadbiri

wattaqdeer

O he who governs and

determines
 yaa manil a'seero a'laihe
sahlun yaseer

O he for Whom all difficult

things are simple and easy

O he who never needs an

explanation

O he who is powerful over everything

O he who is aware of

O sender of the winds

 yaa faaleqal is'bah'e

O cleaver the day - break

 yaa baa' ethal arwah

O dispatcher of the
spirits
 yad'al joode was samaah

O Lord of Generosity and Clemency

 yaa man be yadehi kullu miftaah

O he who in Whose hands are all keys

 yaa saamea'a kulle s'awt

O he who hears every sound

O he who takes precedence over
all that have passed away


yaa muh'yeyaa kulle nafsin

ba'dal mawt

O Giver of life to every soul after

death

 yaa u'ddati fee shiddati

O my provision in confronting hardships

 y a a h a a fe z'i fe e g h u rb a ti

O my Guardian in strange lands

 yaa moonesi fee wah' dati

O my Friend in my
loneliness
 y a a w a liy y i fe e n e 'm a ti

O my Master in my blessings
 mad'aa hebo wato sal-lemonil
aqaarebo Wa yakhd'oloni kullo
s'aahebin

O my Refuge when the journey makes me

weary and my kinsfolk hand me over
to my foes and all my comrades
forsake me
 yaa i'maa da manlla i'maada
lahu

O Guarantor of him who has

no guarantee ;
 yaa sanada man laa sanada lah

O Means of him who has no

strength ;
yaa d'ukhra man laa d'ukhra lah

O Refuge of him who has no refuge

 yaa h'irza man laa h'irza lahu

O sanctuary of him who has no

sanctuary

O cave of him who has no cave



yaa kanza man laa kanza lahu

O treasure of him who has no

treasure
y a a ru k n a m a n la a ru k n a la h

O pillar of him who has no pillar

 gheyaatha lahu

O help of him who has no help

O neighbour of him who has no
neighbour.


yaa jaareyal las'eeq

O my adjacent neighbour
 yaa rukneyal watheeqa

O my firm support

Yaa elaahi bittah'-qeeqe

O my GOD in truth
 yaa rabbal baitil ateeqe

O lord of the Ancient House ( the

Ka'ba );


yaa shafeeqo yaa rafeeqo

all affectionate , O nearest

friend


Fukkani min h'alaqil maz"eeqe

Liberate me from the chains that

hold me back
 was'rif a'nni kulla hammin
waghammin waz"ee q

Remove from me all sorrow ,

Suffering and grief ,
 Wakfeni sharra maala uteeq

Protect me from the evil that

I am unable to bear ,
w a a - i'n n i a 'la a m a a u t'e e q
and help me in that which I am able
to bear
 Yaa raad da yoosufa a'laa
ya'qoob

O he who returned Joseph to

Jacob


yaa kaashifa zurre ayyoob

O he who removed the afflictions

of Job


yaa ghaafirad' d'ambi daawud

O he that forgave the fault of

David ;
 yaa raafia issa ibne maryam
wa munjihi min aydil yahud

O he who lifted up Issa ( Jesus )

and saved him from the clutches
of the Jews
 yaa mujeeba nidaa-e yoonosa
fiz' zulumaat

O he who answered the prayer

of Yunus ( jonas ) from the
darkness
yaa must'afee moosa bil kalemaat

O he that chose Musa ( Moses ) by

means of inspired words
 yaa man ghafarale adam-a
khat'ee-atah

O Thou that forgave Adam of

his slip
wara faa'a idreesa makaa nan
a'liyyan be rahmatih

and raied Idris to an exalted

station by his mercy
 yaa man najaa nooh'an minal
gharaq

O he who saved Noah from

drowning
 yaa man ahlaka a'adanil oola

O he who destroyed the former

people of Ad
 Waqauma noo h'in min qablo
inna hum kaanoo hum az'lama
wa at'ghaa

and then the people of Thamood ,

so that no trace of them
remained , and destroyed the
people of Noah before that , for
verily they were the most unjust
and most rebellious
 Wal mo-tafekate ahwa yaa
man dam mara a'laa qaume
loot

and overturned the ruined and

deserted towns O he who
destroyed the people of Lot ;
 Wadamdama a'laa qaume
shuayb

and annihilated the people of

Sho'aib
 ibraheema khaleelan

O he that chose Abraham as a

friend
 yaa manit takhad'a moosa
kaleeman

O he that chose Musa as one

spoken unto
 Wat-ta khad'a muhammad-an
s'allaaho a'laihe wa aalehi wa
a'laihim ajma'eena h'abeeba

and chose Muhammed ( your

blessings be upon him and his
Progeny ) as your Beloved
 yaa mo-teya luqmaanal h'ikmah

O he who gave Luqman wisdom ;

 Wal waahiba li-sulaimaan
mulka laa yambaghi li ah'a di-
min ba'dihi

and bestowed upon Sulaiman a

kingdom the like of which
shall not be merited by
anyone after him

yaa man nas'ara d'al qarnaine

a'lal moloo kil jabaaberate

O he that gave Dhulqarnain

victory over the tyrant kings
 yaa man aa't'al khiz'ral
h'ayaata

O he that granted unto Khizr

immortality
Waradda le yooshaa' abne noo
nish shamsa ba'da
ghuroobeha

and brought back for Yusha ,

the son of Nun , the sun after
it had set
 yaa man rabat'a a'laa qalbi
ummi Moosa

O he who gave solace unto the

heart of Musa's mother
 Wa ah's'ana farja maryam
ab nate imraan

and protected the chastity of

Mariam , the daughter of
Imran ;


yaa man h'ass'ana yah'yabna

zakariyya minad'amb;

O he who fortified Yahya , the

Son of Zakaria against sin;

Wasakkana a'n moosal

ghaz"aba

and calmed the anger of Musa

( moses )
 yaa man bashshara zakariyya
beyah'ya

O he that gave the good news

of ( the Birth of ) Yahya unto
Zakaria
 yaa man fadaa ismae'ela
minad' dabhe bidibh'in
az'eemin

O Thou that saved Ismael from

slaughter by substituting for
him the Great Sacrifice
 yaa man qabila qurbaan
haabeela Wa ja'alal la'anata
a'la qaa beela

O he who accepted the

sacrifice of Abel and placed
the curse upon Cain
 yaa hazemal ah'zaabe le
muh'am madin s'allal-laaho
a'laihe wa aalehi

O he who Subdued of the parties

for Muhammad - the blessings of
Allah be upon him and his
Progeny -
 sa-laka beha ah'adun mimman
raz"ee taa'nho Fa h'atamta lahu
a'lal ijaabah

And I beg of you with all the requests

which anyone has begged of you with
whom you are pleased and unto whom
you have assured the granting thereof
 yaa allaaho yaa allaaho yaa
allaaho

O Allah, O Allah, O Allah

 yaa rah' maano yaa rah'maa
no yaa rah'maano

 As aloka bekullismin sam mai
ta behi nafsaka

I beseech you with the help of

all the Names whereby you have
named yourself
aw anzal taho fee shayyin Min
kotu beka awis ta-atharta behi
fee i'lmil ghaibe

or which you have sent down in

any of your inspired
Scriptures , or Which you have
inscribed in your knowledge of
the unknown , which only you
know
 i'nkdaka Wa-be ma-a'aqedil
i'zze min a'rshika

and (I beseech you) in the name of the

honored and exalted positions of your
Throne,
expressed in Thy Book (the
Quran)


Wa-bema lau anna maa fil arz"e

min shaja-ratin aqlaamun

and in the fact of that which

" If all the trees on earth
 wal bah'ro yamuddoho min
ba'dehi sab-a'to abh'orin maa
na fedat kalemaa

were to become pens and all

the seven seas ink , the Words
of Allah could not be fully
written down
 tullaahe in nallaaha a'zeezun
h'akeem

Verily Allah is the Honored, the

Wise
 Wa as-aloka be asmaaekal
h'usna

And I beseech Thee with the help

of Thy Beautiful Names
 allati naa' attaha fee kitabika
Faqulta walil laahil asmaaul
h'usna

which you have described in

your Book , saying ,: Unto Allah
belong the beautiful names
 fado'oho beha Wa-qulta
udo'ooni asta jib lakum

so call Him by Them ; And you

have said ; Call unto Me and I
shall answer you ;
 i'baadi a'nni fa inni qareeb
ujeebo daa'watad daa'i id'aa
da'aane

and you have said ; and when My

servants ask something of Me , lo ,
I am near and I grant the prayer
of the supplicant when he asks
anything of Me

 jamee'an

and you have said; O My servants who

have wronged yourselves, despair not of
the Mercy of Allah; verilly Allah
forgives all the sins
 innahu huwal ghafoorur
rah'eem

verily He is the Forgiving , the

Merciful
 Wa ana as aolaka yaa ilaahi

Therefore I ask you , My God ,



wa ado'oaka yaa rabbi

and I call on you , My lord

wa arjooka yaa Sayidee

And I have hope in you my master

 Wa at'maa'o fee ijaabati yaa
maulaaya kamaa wa a'd tani

And I crave for your acceptance

of my prayer , O my Protector ,
just as you promised me
 Wa qad daa'aotoka kamaa
amartani

and I have call upon you just as

you have commanded me
 Faf a'l bi maa anta ahlohu yaa
kareemo

So , do unto me what pleases you

to do , O all Generous One
 Wal h'am do lillahe rabbil a'a
lameen

And all Praise be to Allah , the

Lord and Sustainer of the worlds
 Wa s'alal laaho a'laa muh'am
madin wa aalehi ajmae'en

and the blessings of Allah be

upon Muhammad and all His
Holy Descendants .
