Infection NCP

The patient had just recovered from an illness but has become sick again, as reported by the patient's mother. The nursing diagnosis is risk for infection. The goals are to assess for signs of infection, encourage proper hand hygiene, recommend showering when indicated, emphasize taking antibiotics as directed, discuss not taking leftover drugs, and encourage nutritious foods and activity to boost the immune system. After 6 hours of nursing intervention, the family identified ways to prevent infection and stated they would ensure the patient eats nutritious foods.
