Your Favorite University Project

The document provides instructions for a university project to analyze historical tuition costs data from both a private and state college over the past 10 years. Students are asked to graph the tuition data from each college in a linear model, determine the linear regression equations, and use the equations to predict tuition costs for both colleges in 2020. Students must collect hard copies of tuition data from online sources and present their findings, predictions, and methodology.

Topic: Finding historical data on tuition and using that information to predict future tuition

costs.

Find data for the following:

-State college’s tuition (use in state or resident tuition) for the past TEN years.

Note: they do not need to be from the same state.

-Private college’s tuition for the past TEN years.

*You will need to graph a linear model for each.

*You will also need to find linear regression equations (prediction equations) for each.

*You will need a hard copy of the data collected.

*Lastly, predict the tuition cost for both universities in 2020.

Finding Tuition Costs

-Go to Google or any other internet search site you can type in “institutional + research + fact

book + tuition”

-Look up individual institutions on the www then go to the fact book section or institution

research section (not the easiest)
