The AFM is an independent regulator, an independent


administrative . While DNB look after the financial
obligations , Work of AFM is to insure the legal obligation on
part the Financial Institutions.


The Minister of Finance is responsible for the
functioning of the financial system, for policy and
legislation in the area of financial markets. The
Minister appoints the board of the AFM, approve its
budget and set taxes.
The President and Executive Directors of DNB are
appointed by Royal Decree.
