1. What are the types of theodolite and write the temporary adjustment of
theodolite.
2. Draw the transit theodolite and write the component parts and their
functions?
3. Write the methods of measurement of Horizontal angles by repetition and

4. Differentiate between Repetition and Reiteration methods.
5. Write the errors in theodolite and what are the necessary steps to be taken for
rectifying the errors.
6. List the fundamental axis (lines) of a theodolite. What are the relationships
existing among the axis in perfect adjustment.
7. Explain the permanent adjustments of transit theodolite.
8. Distinguish between Temporary adjustments and Permanent adjustments.
9. Define the terms vertical axis, Horizontal axis (turnion axis), axis of telescope,
axis of the bubble tube, Line of collimation, centring, transiting, face left
observation, face right observation, telescope normal, telescope invested,
changing face, Double sighting, least count of main and inverted scales.
10. Briefly explain the following methods, when using transit theodolite.
a) Prolonging a straight Line
b) Measurement of Magnetic bearing of line
c) Measurement of deflection angle
