Extinguishers in Accommodation

The document provides guidelines for the arrangement of portable fire extinguishers in accommodation and service spaces on ships. It states that a sufficient number of extinguishers must be readily available and suitable for the type of fire likely to occur in each space. Specific requirements are outlined for the minimum number and type of extinguishers required in accommodation spaces, near switchboards, in galleys, paint stores, the navigation bridge, and spaces containing radio equipment.

8. emer gen safety-interlocks provided to prevent closure f breakers f msb n esb @same time...

3 continous starting attempt in case f starting failure... n trips r cooling water high temp trip, lo low pressure trip, ovr speed trip.....

12. settling tk temp around 60-65 deg n service tk aroun 90-95deg.. obviously fr purifier u r takin suction frm settling tk n if th temp is high thn ur purifier interface wil move twrds th periphery or th water may tend to frm steam if temp is very high.. this leading in over flow f purifier... thus settling tk temp is maintained less... tho service tk temp is high cz u need fr proper combustion f purified fuel ri8?? tats y temp is maintained in tnk... (flash pt f ho is 140deg.. bt u r injectin fuel in m/e @ 135deg... very close encounter... bt still oil is under pressure so flash pnt wil stil increase.... whr as in tank u cannot mantain at so high temp as flash point matters) 13. freeboard in tankers r less cz th openings in the tankers are small than of other ship & also the permeability is more& less Free Surface effect and density of oil less thn water so keeps th tanker afloat... 14.A ship will either hav 2 docking plans or it will have the two plans incorporated into the one drawin..,.th main idea of th plan is to ensure tat th blocks r not positioned in th same place fr two consecutive dry docks thus ensuring tat all areas of the hull are painted at least every alternate docking..,.th plan nt nly shows all th hull penetrations bt also exactly where th blocks to be placed by th dock prior to th ship enterin it.., Th plan will be frwrded to th yard to enable them to position th blcks prior to th ship entering n they wil b told whether to position th blcks on plan "1" or plan "2"
