Dr. H.T. Sangliana was a member in the 14th Lok Sabha from Bangalore North Constituency from BJP. He voted for the Civil Nuclear deal in Parliament for which he was disqualified as member from July 3, 2008. He was the Congress Party Candidate in the Bangalore Central Constituency for 15th Lok Sabha. He was invited to address the District Collectors, Deputy Commissioners by the Chief Minister of Nagaland and awarded Excellent impression by participants. He is called A giant killer defeating Invincible Congress leader Shri Jaffer Sharief from Bangalore North Constituency during 2004 Parliamentary elections.
