ADAPT00734334
Description:
Reports that are scheduled to run daily may fail to run on the day that the Daylight Savings Time (DST) transition period occurs.
For example, if a report is scheduled to run during the time that the clock is moved forward (between 2:00AM and 3:00AM) of the day that DST starts, the report will not be scheduled to run that day. This problem is caused by an error in the scheduling logic for the Central Management Server (CMS).
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved.
To solve the problem, reports will run as scheduled on the day that DST starts, at the correct next run time + 1 hour.
ADAPT00735097
Description:
Weekly and monthly recurring reports that are scheduled to run between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. run an hour late on the day which DST occurs. Each additional recurring instance runs one hour late from it's originally specified run time.
New Behavior:
If a recurring instance is scheduled such that it's next run time is between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. then the instance will schedule one hour late on the day which DST occurs. The recurring instances that follow will schedule at their originally specified run time.
ADAPT00772164
Description:
Scheduled instances that are missing the SI_SUBMITTERID property pend indefinitely. The correct behavior is for the scheduled instance to fail if it is missing the SI_SUBMITTERID property.
New Behavior:
Instances missing the SI_SUBMITTERID property will now fail once it's run time has reached.

ADAPT00911254
Description:
Australia's new, extended Daylight Saving Times (DST) for the Australian eastern states fails to be recognized by BusinessObjects Enterprise Xl and XI Release 2. For example, when a user's time zone in InfoView is explicitly set to Australian Eastern, Central, or Tasmania the time stamp value that is displayed in InfoView for an object's instance (for example, on the History tab) may sometimes be inaccurate by an hour.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. In addition to installing this HotFix, users must also download and install the appropriate DST patches for their operating systems, Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and application servers. Users can contact their respective vendors for more information.

Description:
In BusinessObjects Enterprise, the timestamp value displayed for an object's instance, e.g in InfoView under an object's History tab, may fail to take into account the extensions to Daylight Saving Time (DST) regulations announced by the New Zealand Government and the trial regulations announced by the Western Australian Government. In April 2007 the New Zealand Government announced an update to the Time Act of 1974 which changes the dates of both the start and end of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Daylight Saving has been introduced in Western Australia for a three-year trial period starting December 2006. A referendum will be held in 2009 to decide whether it should become permanent.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. To enable this fix, users must also download and install the appropriate DST patches for their operating systems, Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and application servers. Users should contact their respective vendors for more information.

Description:
After installing a recent HotFix, the Crystal Reports ActiveX viewer fails to work in custom applications deployed to Websphere 5.x environments using SSL. The ActiveX viewer is present, but it fails to display report data. The cause of the problem is that WebSphere generates a Response Header when SSL is enabled; however, Internet Explorer has a problem handling this header value. For more information, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article number 316431 at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316431.

ADAPT00567519
Description:
When many Web Intelligence documents are opened at once, the following error message appears: "Could not initialize Report Engine Server (Error: INF)". The error message is issued from the Web Intelligence Report Server. The problem is caused by two issues: the closeDocument function fails to be called by openDocument.jsp, which causes problems with the refresh mechanism, and, in a configuration where multiple CPUs are used, the WIReportServer cleanup thread stops working.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved for most browsers (see the Limitations section). To solve the problem, the functions closeDocument and CancelQueries are properly called to avoid refresh problems, and code has been added to WIReportServer to use a try/catch block to let the cleanup thread (the release order function in Corba) work properly.
Known Limitations:
This HotFix works for most Internet Explorer versions and service packs, except for the following: Windows 2003 SP1 Internet Explorer 6.0.3790.1830, SP1.
ADAPT00568333
Description:
The Crystal Reports ActiveX Viewer is difficult to open; an extra mouse click on the Active X viewer icon is required. The problem is caused by an update to Microsoft Internet Explorer that has changed how ActiveX controls are loaded into web pages.

ADAPT00542121
Description:
If a machine uses Internet Protocol Network Multipathing (IPMP) multi-homing and multiple network interface cards (NICs), Web Intelligence (WebI) fails to initialize. The cause of the problem is that the Central Management Server (CMS) specifies a list of client machines that are allowed to use the token to log on to the system. At logon time, the CMS references this list of client machines and examines the IP address of the client on the underlying socket connection, which is used during logon. If the client logging on doesn't appear in the list of allowed clients, the logon is rejected. This behavior is a problem when multiple network interface cards (NIC) are on the server.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. The list of allowed clients has been removed from the token.

Description:
In the Schedule Manager, when a user selects reports to have their logon information changed, the change is applied to some but not all the reports selected. The problem concerns the Schedule Manager's ability to handle database logons that are case-insensitive.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. Users must make the following modifications to ensure case-insensitive database logons are handled properly: For .NET applications, do the following: - For BusinessObjects XI R1, to modify the web.config file (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise11\Web Content \Enterprise11\WebTools\), set the parameter "scheduleManager_dbServerCaseSensitive" to FALSE. This step enables .NET Schedule Manager to handle case insensitivity. - For BusinessObjects XI R2, to modify the web.config file (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Web Content\Enterprise115\WebTools\), set the parameter "scheduleManager_dbServerCaseSensitive" to FALSE. This step enables the .Net Schedule Manager to handle case insensitivity. For Java: - For BusinessObjects XI R1, to modify the web.xml file for Tomcat (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise11\adminlaunch\WEB-INF), set the parameter "scheduleManager_dbServerCaseSensitive" to FALSE. Description:
A report that uses 900 or more parameters displays an error message when viewed or forces the page server to shut down unexpectedly. The error is caused by a stack overflow, which is triggered by the large number of parameters.
New Behavior:
To solve the problem, a new command line switch, -JTCss, has been added for the page server to allow the stack size to be configured upon start up. For example, starting the pageserver with the command line switch changed to -JTCss 10000 will set the stack size to 10Mb. The default size of the stack is 1Mb.
Known Limitations:
Note that this change may limit scalability of the server under certain conditions. As the stack size is increased, the server can support fewer threads. The impact this behavior will have on scalability will depend on the configuration in use. Therefore, it is recommended that users carefully test performance after changing the stack size.

The CMC takes a long time to display the instances of a report object and may display an error message. The cause of the problem is that the CMS is slow to access the SI_LAST_SUCCESSFUL_INSTANCE_ID or SI_LAST_RUN_TIME properties for each report instance, particularly when the report has many instances.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved.
Known Limitations:
After installing this HotFix, to enable this fix, it is recommended that users schedule a report to be run.

Under high-volume traffic loads on the Java Application Server, an OutOfMemory error message may appear, and the client application may display this error message: " Could Not Get Page Number." This problem occurs more often when the WIReportServer process (used for WebIntelligence reports processing) is under extensive use. Under those conditions, a full stack may be displayed as follows: com.bo.rebean.wi.CommunicationException: Could not get page number. at com.bo.rebean.wi.corba.XMLviaCorba.getBlobAsStream at com.bo.rebean.wi.corba.CorbaDocumentComAdapter.getBinaryContentAsStream at com.bo.rebean.wi.corba.CorbaReportComAdapter.getBinaryContentAsStream
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. To enable this fix, users must increase the value for MAX_HEAP_SIZE in the webi.properties file to accommodate the size of the Java Heap size defined in the application server: 1. Edit the webi.properties file in the WEB-INF/classes directory of the web application. If using a Tomcat deployment, the file is usually stored in ...\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\classes. 2. Add the following line, if the line is not in the file, or comment it out and update the value as follows: MAX_HEAP_SIZE=<java_heap_size_for_app_server> The value <java_heap_size_for_app_server> represents the number in bytes and must match the value set to in the application server. For example : Use the setting MAX_HEAP_SIZE=750000000 to set the size limit to 750MB, 3. Save the file, and restart the application server.

Using OpenDoc, the parameter sInstance=Last fails to display the latest instance for WebI documents.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved.
Known Limitations:
In a previous HotFix, a restriction was removed on ssInstance=Last to allow the parameter to select all types of instances, rather than only Crystal Reports-formatted instances. New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. To solve the problem, the database subsystem libraries validate the date operands before passing the operands to the database. Reports may not be scheduled to an unmanaged machine. The scheduled job fails, and the following error message appears: "Login error: CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer." The problem happens when the Scheduler tool has rights to the unmanaged disk but has not been granted the "allow logon locally" right on the job server machine. The Microsoft Windows function LOGON32_LOGON_INTERACTIVE is called, which requires that the "allow logon locally" right be granted to the impersonated user.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. A registry key named ImpersonationInteractive has been added. To solve the problem, the value of the key must be changed to 0. When the value is set to 0, the LOGON32_LOGON_CLEARTEXT function is called, which does not require that the impersonated user have the "allow logon locally" right. When the value is left to the default value of 1, problem remains because the LOGON32_LOGON_INTERACTIVE function is called.
Known Limitations:
The registry key is added automatically when scheduling to an unmanaged disk location for the first time after this HotFix is applied. After changing the registry key value, the Crystal Report Job Server must be restarted before the change will take effect.

Description:
The first logon attempt fails when the Java InfoView and the @clustername is used. The Java SDK does not support logon attempts with the @clustername on the first logon attempt. The SDK requires a logon to Central Management Server (CMS) first to retrieve the cluster members; only then can subsequent logon attempts with the @clustername succeed.
New Behavior:
Changes have been made to InfoView to process all logon attempts with @clustername. The change uses a variable in the web.xml or, alternatively, a file named "clusters.properties." Each file contains a list of clusters and the servers for each cluster to be used. Upon logon, Infoview checks to see if the specified CMS name matches one of the values that belong to the clusters. InfoView then attempts to log on to the servers that are provided for that cluster value. How to use the web.xml method: cms.clusters: this file consists of a comma-separated list of cluster names. Note the following: - Each cluster in the above list requires its own parameter: - param-name = cms.clusters.<clustername> (without the @) - param-value = comma separated list of cms servers Note: Each param-name value must match case with the corresponding value in the CMS.clusters. EXAMPLE: <context-param> <param-name>cms.clusters</param-name> <param-value>@samplecluster, @samplecluster2, @samplecluster3</param-value> </context-param> <context-param> <param-name>cms.clusters.samplecluster</param-name> <param-value>cmsone:6400, cmstwo:6400</param-value> </context-param> <context-param> <param-name>cms.clusters.samplecluster2</param-name> <param-value>cms3, cms4, cms5</param-value> </context-param> <context-param> <param-name>cms.clusters.samplecluster3</param-name> <param-value>aps05</param-value> </context-param>
How to use the clusters.properties method: Parameters may be added to a file named "clusters.properties," which must be placed in the WEB-INF/classes directory.
BEXIWIN_MHF_200601
Store the parameters in this file using the common .properties format. For example, use one "<name>=<value>" pair per line. If this file exists, the settings in web.xml are ignored. EXAMPLE: Sample equivalent clusters.properties file: cms.clusters=@samplecluster, @samplecluster2, @samplecluster3 cms.clusters.samplecluster=cmsone:6400, cmstwo:6400 cms.clusters.samplecluster2=cms3, cms4, cms5 cms.clusters.samplecluster3=aps05
Note: No port has to be provided for a server. If none is provided, then the default port 6400 is assumed.

When running a query with the Web Intelligence Java Applet, while the browser window is minimized and then maximized after the data has returned, a blank prompt dialog box titled "Retrieving Data" appears and remains indefinitely. The cause of the problem is that the applet calls setVisible(false) for the prompt dialog box titled "Retrieving Data," but setVisible(false) conflicts with the request to maximize the browser.
New Behavior:
To solve the problem, the Web Intelligence Java Applet disposes the call to the RunQuery dialog box.
Known Limitations:
If the Java plug-in has caching enabled, the cached items must be cleared.

Description:
A second Crystal Management Server (CMS) cannot be started when auditing is enabled. This problem happens when the two Crystal Management Servers (CMS) are on separate machines. This problem happens even when the DSN on each machine, which connects to the audit database, share the same name and description. The cause of the problem is that the CE demands that the audit database connection string be identical for each CMS. Because the audit database connection string is unique for each CMS, the second CMS cannot be started.
New Behavior:
To solve this problem, CE compares only the DSN (name and description), UID, and PWD fields of the audit db connection string.
Known Limitations:
In some scenarios, it is not possible to share the same connection string between each CMS, because of network differences. In such a scenario, the second CMS will not start.

New Behavior:
To fix this problem, users must install this Hot Fix patch, and then do the following: 1) Ensure the registry key "VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation" is set to No. For CE9, the registry key is in the following directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crystal Decisions\9.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\ For CE10, the registry key is in the following directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\ 2) Add the command "procreportoptions __noverifydatabase" in the command line of the Pageserver and Jobserver. Note: the command "procreportoptions __noverifydatabase" has two underscores.

When the option View on Demand is applied and users click a subreport, they are prompted to enter a user name and password to access the database. This problem happens when a report object's main report is based on a Business View and the subreport is not based on a Business View. In that case, the options under "When Viewing Reports" are disabled for both the Business View database connection and the non-Business View database connection. Multiple database connections for the object are created in the report object properties of the CMC, which create the problem.
New Behavior:
The behavior of the "When Viewing Reports" options have been modified for database properties. When the main report is based on a Business View and the subreport is not based on a Business View, the options under "When Viewing Reports" are enabled for the subreport. Description:
Single sign-on authentication is unable to authenticate users who view reports in BusinessObjects Enterprise that are based off a secured database.
New Behavior:
A new feature lets users use single sign-on to view reports in BusinessObjects Enterprise that are based off a secured database. To activate the new feature, users must do the following: 1. In the Central Configuration Manager, open Crystal Reports Cache Server. 2. On the Command textbox, add the switch -useSecondarySSO before -restart. 3. Click Apply, and then click OK. 4. Go to \Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\java\, and open CRConfig.xml in a text editor. 5. In the CRConfig.xml file, add <UseDBUSERInsteadOfSSO/> immediately before the last line. 6. Save CRConfig.xml, and then close the editor. 7. Restart all services. For each report where single sign-on viewing and scheduling is preferred, the administrator must manually enable the single-sign on option. Log on to the Central Management Console and, in the Database properties, enable the Use SSO context for database logon option. For reports that use Business Views, the Single Sign-On option is available from the Data Connections settings used by the Business Views. To enable this option, administrators must open the Business View Manager, and set the option Use Single Sign On when viewing to True for the Data Connections. For reports that use Universes, the administrator or Universe designer can enable the new single-sign on feature by modifying the Universe connection: 1. Open the Designer. 2. On the Tools menu, click Connections. 3. Edit the connection. 4. For the User name, enter @Variable(DBUSER). 5. For the Password, enter @Variable(DBPASS). Enterprise users who want to use the new feature must have their secondary credential properties set, using a sample script provided by Business Objects named SetSecondaryCredential.jsp. The script is in the following directory: \Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\java\lib\. To set secondary credential properties in the SetSecondaryCredential.jsp script: 1. In the first section of the code, read the comments about how to hard code information about the Enterprise system. Note: the "String credUser" variable refers to the Enterprise users for whom you want to add the DBUSER/DBPASS information. Those users must exist on the system before you run the JSP script. 3. In the line "firstPropBag.add("SI_VALUE", "dummyPassword", Property.ALL);", update "dummyPassword" with the appropriate DBPASS. 4. In the line "secondPropBag.add("SI_VALUE", "dummyUser", Property.ALL);", update "dummyUser" with the appropriate DBUSER. 5. Save the changes you've made to SetSecondaryCredential.jsp. 6. Close the editor, and then execute the JSP script.
Known Limitations:
BEXIWIN_MHF_200512
A Crystal report that is based on a Universe will be unable to honor the Single Sign-On feature if the Universe's connection is set up with @Variable('DBUSER')/ @Variable('DBPASS'). As a result, the report designer will prompt users for their logon information. Once the report is published to Enterprise, on-demand viewing works with the SSO option enabled; however, scheduling works only when the User and Password fields are set inside the Central Management Console. This behavior is by design.

New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. Note that the ampersand character must be URL encoded to %26 in the URL. For example, the following is a valid URL string to successfully pass the ampersand character to the report: openDocument.jsp?iDocID=1234&lsSStringParameter=Ben%26Jerry
Known Limitations:

The format function uses the current locale to retrieve the short month string, which in this case will in a language other than English. The non-standard date headers that are retrieved with non-English deployments of CE fail to be processed.
New Behavior:
The issue has been fixed by inserting the English short month string into the date header.

Description:
When objects are deleted from the Crystal Management Console (CMC), the deleted objects still appear in the repository folders.
New Behavior:
The Crystal Input File Repository Server and Crystal Output File Repository Server deletes objects to accurately indicate when objects have been deleted from the folder structure. To enable this behavior, users must disable the Job Server and add the command [-prune] to the command line of the Repository Server (Input or Output) that is set to delete the empty folders, and then restart the server. The server shuts down automatically when the empty folders are deleted. You can add [-trace] to obtain a log file for the number of folders visited and the number of objects deleted. Remove [-prune trace] once the files are deleted.
Known Limitations:
If a user deletes all report instances from the CMC, the system deletes the following folder: "Install Directory\FileStore\Output." If a user deletes all objects from the CMC, the system deletes the following folder: "Install Directory\FileStore\Input." If either of those folders is deleted, the file repository servers are inoperable because the root folder ("Input" or "Output") is absent. To start the servers, users must recreate Input/Output folders.

Description:
When a Crystal Management Server (CMS) in a clustered environment is shut down or started, extra recurring instances of a job are created.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved. The cause of the problem is that two jobservers run the same job simultaneously when the CMS is shut down or started. To solve this problem, before the job is permitted to run on the jobserver, the scheduler determines whether the job belongs to the instance of the CMS to which the job is attached. If the job does not belong to that instance of the CMS, the scheduler releases it for pick up by the correct instance of the CMS at the next scheduler loop.

When Single Sign-On(SSO) is enabled on Windows AD or Windows NT, users are prompted with a username and password when they launch InfoView.
New Behavior:
To resolve this problem, the method of authentication for SSO has been redifined. After users apply this Hot Fix patch, they must modify the web.config file that is located in the following directory: \Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11\Web Content\Enterprise11\InfoView. Within the web.config file, users must add commands to the WebDesktopSettings section: <WebDesktopSettings> <add key="cmsDefault" value="CMSMachineName" /> <add key="ssoEnabled" value="true" /> <add key="authenticationDefault" value="secXXXXXXX" /> <!-- Default Authentication progID (secEnterprise, secLDAP, secWindowsNT, secWinAD) --> </WebDesktopSettings> And add commands to the system.web section: <system.web> <identity impersonate="true" /> <authentication mode="Windows" /> </system.web>

Description:
In a clustered Crystal Enterprise environment, sometimes extra recurring jobs are introduced. This problem occurs when Crystal Management Servers (CMS) are added or removed while one job server is in operation.
New Behavior:
The order of operations has been changed so that all of the scheduler threads are completely shut down before they terminate and, therefore, asserts are no longer created. To further explain the source of the problem: when a Crystal Management Server is shut down in a clustered environment, the scheduler subsystem is susceptible to race conditions, potentially leading to malformed instance objects and extra recurring instances. The reason for those consequences is that CMS's divide jobs evenly between themselves, and it is possible that the ID of one Object becomes processed again by the second CMS. So, the next time a CMS looks at the issue an assert is created to say that the object appears to be incorrect.

Recurring reports that are based on file events will drop the event and run only on the schedule. The cause of the problem is that , if a recurring job is forced to retry because an error occurs for the job that is running on the jobserver, the event dependency information will be lost. This means that all subsequent instances that are created from this recurrence contain no event dependency information, and will therefore not depend on any events.
