Printer Installation

The document provides instructions for manually configuring the IPv4 TCP/IP settings on an HP laserjet 4015n printer from the control panel after making mistakes in the initial configuration process. It recommends first trying to enable DHCP or BootP to have the printer automatically obtain an IP address, then accessing the web interface to make any desired changes. If that does not work, it provides step-by-step instructions for manually entering the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the control panel menus. A reset may be required to clear previous incorrect settings.

Subject: HP laserjet 4015n During installation, to configure my IPv4, I followed the programing sequence correctly until to enter the

IP number. However I could not find points to fill the format xxx.xxx.x.x. While trying to find this signal I've wrongly pressed the return button. Then appeared "automatic" which was selected. Thinking was OK I printed the configuration page and all IPv4 shows zeros or not configured. So I restarted the sequence for manual configuration. "menu" - "Configure product" then next should appear "information" which now is no longer available. Question is how to reset the mistakes I have made to correctly reconfigure the IPv4 of the product and. after all, where this point signal (.) is available on the panel?

I do not know if you used the procedures below but the best way is to have the setting of bootp or dhcp and let the printer find the next available address and after it does you just run a config page and then type that address into your web browser and go to network settings and make any changes you want. Since you have screwed things up us the directions below to try and get them right again. As I said you just want to make sure bootp or dhcp is enabled and the printer will find an address that you can then change using the web interface. If this does not work use the cd that came with the printer. Unlike previous printers this printer does not have a cold reset only for the nic card and the only way is to do a NVRAM reset which will reset the nic card but will also erase your serial number, page counts, service date, etc which you do not want to do. Use the numeric keypad, or press the up arrow or the down arrow to increase or decrease the

number for the first byte of the IP address, subnet mask, or default gateway. 10. Press OK to move to the next set of numbers. To move to the previous set of numbers, press the back arrow . 11.
