Saturday
is Easter for Kids. You can register your child online or turn in the paper registration form in the office. But if you forget to register we hope your child will still attend. Its a fun day of crafts, play, egg hunts, and learning the real meaning of Easter.
The deadline for returning your Pinewood Derby sign up form is Friday, March 29. For only $5 your child will get a pre-cut car they can decorate and race in the Pinewood Derby Race on May 11. Additional sign-up forms are available in the office and church entryway. The Spring Fling (5/18/13) is approaching and you can help! Im looking for a parent volunteer to coordinate putting together a basket for our class. Please let me know if you are willing to assist in this way!
The reading charts are due no later than March 29, but you may be nearing completion if youve decided to track reading every day. You may turn them in as soon as you have completed 20 days in the month. Dont forget that students who return their completed reading charts will be able to choose a small prize or treat from the classroom treasure chest.
Other Classroom News
We will continue the series of stories that lead to the cross and Easter with the lessons about Jesus on Trial and Jesus Crucified. Praise God for the love Jesus showed by redeeming each of us with the suffering and death that should have been ours! Combined with your efforts at home, we will continue to work on memorizing addresses and phone numbers. Have your child show you how we dial your number on the paper phone that will come home this week or on another phone on which he or she can safely practice. We discussed what an emergency is and is not and when we might need to dial 9-1-1. You may want to continue this discussion at home. We will continue to work with numbers, sorting and money this week. Well be introduced to the dime and our new season, spring, which begins on Wednesday!
