Product information

230 volt on board Inverters from XS to XXL

It makes sense to have a 230-volt socket onboard your recreational vehicle. Holiday enjoyment also means being able to use the electrical gadgets you are used to after all. They work on 230-volt alternating current, however, which makes them incompatible with 12-volt or 24-volt onboard circuits. Unless a WAECO inverter has been connected in-between. It converts the 12-volt or 24-volt direct current to the required 230-volt alternating current. The WAECO inverter programme is just as varied as the applications at hand. It accounts for all your needs regardless of whether you just want a lowpriced, compact unit to run your laptop from, or a highperformance sine wave inverter for your microwave oven or professional coffeemaker.

Inverters

Inverter or sine wave inverter?

Which inverter is the right one depends on the type and power rating of the appliance to be connected. The low-priced WAECO PerfectPower inverters generate a sinusoidal output voltage sufficient for all electric consumers with a wide input voltage range, such as hairdryers and vacuum cleaners. Sensitive high-tech appliances, including electric toothbrushes, require a pure sine wave voltage, just like from the home power socket. Fluctuations in the voltage supply may cause failure or even damage to them. WAECO SinePower sine wave inverters make sure that wont happen. The deliver a stable 230-volt input voltage, ensuring everything runs smoothly on board.

Standard in the new Passat: 230 volts by WAECO

Wolfsburg-based Volkswagen, when selecting the standard features for the new Passat, decided to trust WAECOs expertise in electronics. The new Passat is Europes first car model to offer a 230-volt Euro-socket as standard. Its secret is a custom-built, high-performance inverter made in Emsdetten, which generates 230 volts alternating current for laptops etc to be used on the road. For many car buyers, this is one more good reason to opt for the new Passat ...

Inverters for mobile use

230 volts on the road
Due to their well proven reliability, WAECO PerfectPower inverters have become a firm part of many onboard systems. The range includes five versions in different capacities to suit the majority of commonly used 230-volt consumers. For mobile use of especially powerful electric appliances, such as microwave ovens, toasters and vacuum cleaners, we recommend a WAECO PerfectPower high-performance inverter with integrated mains priority circuit.

WITH INTEGRATED PRIORITY CIRCUIT FOR 230 VOLTS

This technical extra was integrated in WAECO PerfectPower high-performance inverters to save the vehicle battery. Heres how it works: if the inverter can choose between an external power supply and the onboard battery e. g. at a campsite it will always give priority to the external power source to generate the required 230 V voltage. No more bothersome plugging and unplugging; the battery is only used when external power supply is unavailable.

Sine wave inverters

Sine wave inverters and accessories

Tailor-made solutions for all applications
WAECO sine wave inverters generate a pure sine wave alternating current from a 12- or 24-volt battery current. These are especially suited for electric consumers that are sensitive to fluctuations in the onboard power supply, and also for power-intensive consumers. The new generation, with models providing a continuous power from 700 watts up, meets industry standards and was designed for the very highest demands. Due to the use of special materials, these units are amazingly lightweight. The 1500-watt sine wave inverter, for instance, weighs just 4800 g. In addition, the inverters feature an energy saving mode that automatically switches the units to low power as soon as there are no 230-volt consumers being operated. Sine wave inverters are permanently connected to the battery. For extra comfort and convenience, a remote control (p. 157) is available as optional extra. Battery friendly power supply is ensured by the VS-230 mains priority circuit, yet another optional extra useful to have.

Priority circuit for 230 volts

3.18
The VS-230 mains priority circuit was designed for voltage management in vehicles with two optional power supplies. If an appliance is connected to two 230-volt power sources a mains power source and an inverter that draws power from the vehicle battery priority is given to the mains power source. This prevents unnecessary use of limited battery power. The priority circuit is suitable for all inverters with a capacity up to 2300 watts including those already in use.
