Three Phase Firing Angle Contol Using Arm 7 Processor

This project involves controlling the firing angle of a three-phase motor using an ARM 7 processor. It monitors and measures all three phase voltages and the firing angle. Readings of voltage, current of one phase, and temperature are displayed on an LCD screen. This protects the three-phase motor from burnout due to low or missing phase voltages during operation by continuously measuring the firing angle and making control decisions. The system uses potential transformers to measure phase voltages which are amplified, converted to digital, and processed by the ARM 7 microcontroller. Current of one phase and temperature are also measured and displayed.

SYNOPSIS

1) Project Title: - Three Phase firing Angle Contol Using Arm 7 Processor 2) Area of Project: The unit can be installed at all the location where three-phase motors are used. The unit can be installed at all places where protection is needed for threephase motor. 3) Features: Monitors and measures all three phase voltages. The controller displays the firings Angle occurred in the system. Readings of Voltage, Current (1 phase), are displayed on LCD display. 4) Scenario: This unit protects the three-phase motor from getting burn out due to absence or reduction of phase voltages during its operation. It continuously measures firings Angle and takes the decision accordingly. 5) Benefit to the User: This method of measurement and control protects the motor and is low cost.. It reduces the burden of checking the voltage after every certain interval. It is the continues monitoring firings Angle system . 6) Block Diagram:-

7) Design Concept:Here we have used micro-controller for monitoring the different parameters and making decision. Here we have used 3 different PT for each voltages with respect to neutral. The output of each Potential Transformer is amplified and buffered to appropriate level and then given to the ADC, which is analog to digital converter. The ADC is interfaced with the micro-controller for calculation of respective voltages. The ADC has 8 different channels that can be selected by the micro-controller by giving appropriate select signal. The amplifier and buffer stage consist of LM 324 Op-amplifier IC. Here we are also going to monitor the current by using the Current Transformer of only one phase and the same thing is done for the current measurement as the voltage. For monitoring the temperature we are using the LM 35 IC and the voltage at the output is given directly to the ADC channel. LM 35 is the temperature sensor which gives 10mv change in voltage per degree centigrade. For dry sensing we have used the simple transistorized amplifier circuit and we are giving logic level to the controller directly. The outputs of all above parameters are displayed on the LCD display. We have interfaced the 16X2 LCD display with the micro-controller. 8) Hard ware Requirement:1) ARM 7 /PIC16F CONTROLLER 2) ADC 3) LM324 op-amp 4) LCD 16 x 2 5) Three Potential Transformer (300v input/5v output) 6) Current Transformer (10A / 0.1A) 7) Diodes , Transistors , Resistors, Crystal 12Mhz 8) PCB Board. 9) Software Requirement:1) PCB Designing Software 2) Programming Software 10) Availability: The components required for the above project are easily available in the Electronics Market. 11) Operation Required to complete the project:Sr No. 1 2 3 4 Task or operation Collection of Data Sheets & Documents Searching & availability of components PCB designing PCB making ( Drilling & Etching )
