GSM COMMUNICATION USING ZELIO SMART RELAY
INTRODUCTION
In this Project, we will demonstrate how to communicate through GSM network using industrial PLC, Zelio Smart Relay from Schneider Electric provides GSM solutions by sending SMS massages to an Authorized mobile phone or to PC connected to a GSM modem with Zelio Alarm software installed ,the following illustration shows the simple operation.
HARDWARE GUIDE
ZELIO SMART RELAY MODEL SR3B261BD
Power Supply 24VDC. Inputs: 10 DISCR + 6 (0 10V). Output: 10 RELAY. Zelio smart relays are designed for use in small automation systems. They are used in both the industrial and commercial sectors.
ZELIO COM MODULE (SR2COM01)
The communication Module in the Zelio Logic range is designed for Monitoring or remote control of machines that operate.
GSM MODEM: (SR2COM02)
Either GSM or analogue PSTN type Modems both the Remote station and PC type-receiving devices
MOBILE PHONE
Third party modem can be used for example with possibility of sending and receiving SMS Text messages.
SIM CARD TO INSERT IN GSM MODE
Again, the SMS text messaging option should be enabled for the SIM card.
SITTING THE CONNECTIONS
CONNECTION FOR PROGRAMMING THE SMART RELAY AND THE INTERFACE
After having powered-up the smart relay and connecting the interface cables as shown, the application program can be transferred in order to simultaneously: Load the automation system program into the smart relay Load the alarm conditions, messages and telephone numbers/e-mail addresses into the interface.

CONFIGURING AND PROGRAMMING THE ZELIO SMART RELAY
STARTING THE PROGRAM:
Start With Running the Zelio Smart Software Program Zelio Soft by Clicking the Software Icon on the Desktop.

When the Program Runs the Welcome Window that shows many options 1. Create new program 2. Open and existing program from your PC 3. Open a recent used or frequent used program 4. Download a program direct from the PLC memory to the PC 5. Enter the Monitoring mode 6. Exit the program Chose the first Option: Create new program.
SITTING PCL PROGRAM
The Module Selection Window appears which the PLC Type and Model is selected. 1. Select the PLC Module Category 2. Select the PLC Module Click Next
Now Selection of the extensions for our system (Com. Module) 1. 2. Click Next Select the Extension module (SR2COM01) Click Add.
Select the Method for Programming Ladder Diagram (LD) or Flow Block Diagram (FBD) Chose the ladder diagram. Click Next.
Now we are Ready for starting the programming before that we must check the PC >> PLC Communication is ready.
CONNECTING PLC
Form the program menu Select Transfer >> COMMUNICATION configuration. The Configure Window appears; Now Click on Test if something wrong an error will appear checks the connection, else the connection is fine Processed and Click OK.

CONFIGURE THE COMMUNICATION MODULE
Now to Configure the Communication module and the phone number of the modem to which the Zelio relay will be connected; Select Directories form the program menu Directories >> Directory of Remote stations
From the Directory of Remote stations Window select Create.

To Create A Remote Station: 1. Identify The Station Name , for Example : PLC1 2. Identify The Station SIM Number , for Example : 0102407734 3. Select the Modem to be : SR2MOD02 4. Identify The Station SMS Server Service number : +20105996500 Click OK.

Now to Configure the Communication module cell phone numbers to which the Zelio remote station can send messages; Select Directories form the program menu Directories >> Program Recipients Directory From the Program Recipients Directory Window Click, Create.

To Create A Recipient Directory: 1. Identify The Recipient type: Mobile phone, Zelio Alarm, E-mail. 2. Identify The Recipient Name, for Example : Admin 3. Select the Recipient SIM Number: 0103706643 Click OK.
PROGRAMMING THE PLC
Now To create our Program we will use the I1 Input Port. As per the I1 is connected, to send the message to the Admin, go to the COM. Icon and drag and drop to the Coil TS

Double Click on the coil TS1 created. Following screen will appear Select Alarm, and then Switch to the Parameters Tap

From this Window Configuring the massage that will be sent and how will receive it , Click the Block in the message recipient ; Chose the Admin so to be the receiver of the massage Click on Send to -> to add Now Click OK

After adding the Admin to the message recipient, we can Set the Massage Subject and Write the Description that we want in the Massage Body. Click OK.

TRANSFERRING THE PROGRAM TO THE PLC
The Final Step is To Transfer the Program and Configuration to the Zelio Smart Relay From the Program menu: Transfer >> Transfer Program >> PC > Module.
After the Program is transferred, it is ready to be tested in the Run Mode.
