The Epistle: A Reading f r o m the First Epistle of blessed P a u l the Apostle, to the Corinthians: Brethren: A l l flesh is not the sam.e flesh; but there Is one kind o f flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of bird^ There are also celestial bodies, a n d bodies terrestrial; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory o f the Sun, and another glory of the M o o n , and another glory of the stars; f o r one star differeth f r o m another star in glory. So also is the Resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption; It is sown i n dishonour; it is raised i n glory; it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power; It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. A n d so it is w r i t t e ^ " T h e first m a n Adam was made a living soul; the Last A d a m was a Q u i c k e n ng S p i r i t . Brethren: F o r wek n o w that i f o u r earthly house o f this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a Building of G o d , an House not made with hands, Eternal in the Heavens. F o r in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with O u r House W h i c h Is f r o m Heaven; I f so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. F o r we that are i n this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not f o r that we w o u l d be unclothed, t u t clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. N o w H e That hath wrought us f o r the selfsame thing is G o d , W h o also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent f r o m the L o r d ; (For we walk by Fsiith, not by sight;) W e are confident, I say, a n d willing rather to be absent f r o m the body. and to be present with the L o r d .
