Dr. Anitesh Barua Anitesh Barua is the William F.
Wright Centennial Professor of Information Technology, Stevens Piper Foundation Professor, Distinguished Teaching Professor, and Associate Director of the Center for Research in Electronic Commerce at the McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D from CarnegieMellonUniversity. Dr. Baruas research has been supported by both government and private organizations including the National Science Foundation, Cisco Systems, Dell Inc., Ernst & Young, IBM Research, Intel Corporation,Sprint, Philips, Sybase and VeriSign. Over 80 of his research articles have appeared in prestigious academic journals, refereed conference proceedings, edited book chapters and magazines such as the CIO Magazine and Forbes. Dr. Barua has received many awards for his research and teaching, including the William W. Cooper Doctoral Dissertation Award from Carnegie Mellon University, National Science Foundation Research Initiation Award, the University of Texas College of Business Administration (CBA) Foundation Teaching Award, ANBAR Citation Excellence, the CBA Teaching Innovation award, membership in the University of Texas Academy of Distinguished Teachers, the El Paso Energy Foundation Faculty Award for Academic Excellence, Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Professorship, Texas Exes Teaching Award and the University of Texas Regents Outstanding Teaching Award.
