WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE

Well begun is half done The main objective of this residential programme is to develop a broad perspective among the Management Executives, Members of Faculty in Business Schools, Doctoral Scholars in Management, and research oriented professionals to enhance methodological skills and to inculcate in them a conceptual understanding and rigor for management research. Today, there are many workshops conducted on advance techniques of data management, but no data will suffice if the grounds on which research is based is wrong. This two-day workshop on Research Methodology has been designed to enable doctoral researchers to kick-start their research projects on logical and rational ground. The program has been designed to provide researchers with the necessary background to undertake a piece of research, to formulate it into a problem for study and to frame questionnaire and being familiar with data analysis tools using SPSS. This is a serial workshop that takes one step at a time approach to research. The first workshop would concentrate on the initial life cycle of research until bivariate analysis. The second series of the workshop is aimed to be conducted by February, 2014, with sufficient time frame given for participants to ruminate and make advancements in their research. The registered participants will receive the case materials before 3-days of the programme through e-mail from the coordinator of the programme. RESOURCE FACULTY Dr. P Ganesan is the Coordinator for the workshop. He is the Senior Professor in Marketing division, VIT Business School. Published articles in international journals including Journal of Social Economics, Journal of Financial Services Marketing, and Health Marketing Quarterly etc. Presented more than 75 papers in national and international conference of repute. Editorial Board Member in international journals. Produced 6 PhDs and guiding more than 6 students. Offered training programmes for management faculty members and corporate executives in the areas of marketing research by using various statistical software including SPSS. Dr. Resmi Ann Thomas is the Coordinator and also is the resource person of the programme. She is an Associate Professor in VIT and has her Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M). She has research experience in psychology, entrepreneurship, knowledge management, organizational learning etc. She has conducted numerous Research and SPSS training programmes for both Indians and Foreign delegates (EFLU). She has published prolifically and is the Editor of two International Journals and is the Editorial Board Member of many refereed International journals. She is recognized as Research Methodology Expert in ICSSR research pool. Dr. S Jayavelu, Fellow IIM-A and Adjunct Professor, IIM-Kozhikode. He has research expertise in the area of HR and OB.
