Uvita , complete review and origin of one of the most attended shoreline in Costa Rica

Described by many as probably the most biologically diverse areas in the field, southwestern Costa Rica has a great amount of beautiful beaches and fantastic vistas. Of the numerous spectacular beaches found here, Playa Uvita is among the most stunning beaches on Costa Ricas southern Pacific coast. Found in the southern Puntarenas province roughly 16 km south of Dominical, a surfing hotspot, Playa Uvita is situated inside the Marino Ballena National Park. This marine park is very popular because amongst the months of December and April Humpback, whales migrate here towards the warm waters from the coast to mate before returning up north.

Lying south of San Jose, the simplest way to get to Playa Uvita is to fly in to the Juan Santamaria International Airport near San Jose, and then catch a bus to Quepos, Dominical, or San Isidro de El General. From here, you could get another bus to Playa Uvita, which is a short drive away. An alternative choice for tourists is to fly into the Palomar Sur Airport and then drive off to Uvita beach

Accessible for the year because the weather is gorgeous quite often, Playa Uvita is a 2-mile white sand beach with moderate waves and crystal clear blue waters. Since this beach is part associated with Marino Ballena National Park, fishing and hunting any marine life is strictly prohibited. However, swimming conditions are ideal here and tourists will enjoy a number of water sports. The best feature of Playa Uvita is its beautiful landscape with estuaries and mangrove swamps as well as its lovely local village atmosphere.

Later, during the 1980s the Costa Rican government was the owner of Uvita. However, as time passed, Uvita became occupied by approximately 90 families, the almost all them coming from the Aguirre county, from Playa Matapalo to Quepos. Overtime, the families appropriated the land through the government through the Institute of Agricultural Development. For the 1980s and 90s Uvita land was parceled off, given away, sold, and transferred. This cycle was continuously repeated throughout the 90s and became more common starting in the year 2000 with the appearance of foreign investors and real estate companies.

Accommodations are extremely reasonable at Playa Uvita with many budget guesthouses, hotels and rustic lodges in the region. If you want to remain on the beach, there are cabinas and rooms readily available for rent. There are loads of local and cozy bars and restaurants to eat at as well, as street side sodas (small cafes) that offer delicious local delights.

Playa Playa Uvita been best-known even though the most well-known beaches in Costa Rica to surf and it is widely recognized as the most frequented places for families that reside within the to the south of Costa Rica. It is not the absolute most lowest cost site to check out in Costa Rica because this has become in a place that foreign sightseers prefer to visit.
