EXHIBITION CATALOGUE
2 SUMMER SHOW 2008
The 2 SUMMER SHOW at HOST is conceived as an open print fair and annual show of new works by photographers. In 2008 we received over 1,800 image entries from 38 countries. These were edited down to 170 photographs by a team of editors including: Sophie Batterbury from the Independent on Sunday, Fiona Rogers from Magnum Photos, and members of the Foto8 editorial team. Using a democratic system of single votes the images hung in HOST gallery represent the top 170 images chosen from all entries received. Photographers selected for the exhibition were invited to submit their own print and frame to hang in HOST. The gallery has supplied additional frames where requested. SALES AND VALUATIONS All works are for sale and are from a limited number edition. Each photographer has provided a price for the work on display, including where appropriate, mounting, finishing and frames. (Note: HOST gallery frames are not included in sales). HOST gallery has indicated a comission of 50% 0n sales. The final value of commission is open to negotiation and we openly encourage buyers to discuss and arrange a final sale price with HOST that is more favourable where possible. 10% of all final sales will be donated by HOST to Disasters Emergency Committe, a clearing charity for funding international humanitarian relief operations.
selected as Best in Show by a panel of industry experts after judging on 30 July. The award is a cash prize of 1000. A public vote is also being collected to name the peoples choice winner and an additonal prize award. Please vote in person in the gallery.
The 2 AWARD will be presented to the single entry
