You MUST start the engineering from CAP 531. After COMPILING the graphic configuration, CAP 531 passes IMPORTANT INFORMATION to other subtools:
PCM 600 receives the list of used functions SMT receives the list of hardware cards and used virtual I/O GDE receives the used control and measurement blocks

ONLINE / UPLOAD OPTIONS
IF YOU HAVE THE IED connected to the PC, the fastest way to get the PC function library synchronized with the IED library is to run Upload Options:
BEFORE UPLOAD OPTIONS: PC contains more functions than IED

When the Application Configuration is ready you have to compile it Note: The Graphic Application Configuration does not contain any Input/Output information. It only contains VIRTUAL I/O information!

When you exit CAP 531 containing a successfully compiled configuration, the list of used functions is associated to your IED in PCM 600 structure.

CAP 531 has the possibility to compare the configuration located into the PC with the configuration stored into the terminal. This process is very useful to check if the configuration stored in the terminal is the same configuration which was downloaded during the commissioning or during the last download.
