The Special-Lite® SL-21 FRP-Clad Fire-Rated Door is the perfect
complement to our FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester) entrance
doors for interior or exterior applications that require a 90-minute
fire door. Tested in accordance with UBC 7-2, NFPA 252, and UL
10C requirements, the SL-21 has passed the 1-1/2 hour positive
pressure test, hose stream test, and 250 degree temperature rise
tests to achieve Warnock Hersey listing for fire-rating applications
in the U.S.
Available in 30, 45, 60 or 90-minute rated versions, as singles or
pairs up to 4’ x 8’ per leaf. Face sheets can be specified in any of
our standard FRP colors, or painted face sheets in any color.

Construction
The SL-21 FRP-Clad Fire-Rated Door features the same FRP face
sheets as our SL-17 Door bonded to a mineral core with a perim-
eter designed for secure hardware attachment. Edge capping and
vision lite kits are natural finish stainless steel similar in appearance
to clear anodized aluminum. Edge capping is screw-applied,

Application Guidelines
• Available with 30, 45, 60 or 90-minute ratings.
• Available as single doors or pairs with mullion up to 4’ x 8’ per leaf.
• Available with wire chase.
• Requires fire-rated hardware, including mullions and exit devices, supplied by Special-
Lite or others. Hinges must be secured to door with fasteners supplied by Special-Lite.
• Requires fire-rated framing by others with field installation of smoke seal and gaskets
supplied by Special-Lite.
• Vision lites must be fire-rated, and can be supplied by Special-Lite or others. Fire-rated
wire glass can be used in vision lites up to 100 sq. inches. Ceramic glass must be
used in vision lites over 100 sq. inches. Vision lite must be at least 6” from DLO to
hardware. Standard vision lite kit sizes available are: 4” x 25”, 6” x 28”, 10” x 10”,
22” x 28”. 1” glass is not available.
