Allah Only Wills To Remove All Impurity From You, O The People Of The Household, And By Cleansing You

Make You Utterly Pure. [Surah al-Ahzab, Verse 33]

Naturaly, Mothers of the Ummah were purified but this does not mean that they are a part of the Ayte Tathir.

The Tradition of the Cloak Narrated by Ahmad in hes Musnad with six chains, also Tirmidhi with several chains and he said hassan sahih, al-Hakim, and Tabrani. In the Hadith books an important event symbolizes the spiritual dimension of the relation between the Holy Prophet and his family. This is the Tradition of the Cloak, which the Holy Prophet ) spread his blessed cloak (kambli mubarak)

over himself and Hazrath Ali (as), Hazrath Fatimah (as) and their two sons Hazrath Hassan (as) and Hazrath Hussain (as). The circumstance of the Tradition (Hadith) is as follows:

Hazrath Umm Salama (may Allah be well pleased with her), the wife of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him and his family) reports, that one-day the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him and his family) said to Fatimah (may Allah be well pleased with her): "Bring me your husband and two sons" When they had all come together he spread his cloak over them and he said: "Oh Allah, these are the people of my house! Let therefore your blessings descend upon Muhammad the people of the House of Muhammad and remove uncleanness far from them and cleanse them with a thorough cleansing "It is stated that the verse: 'Surely Allah wishes to remove all abomination from you, O People of the House, and purify you with a thorough purification', was revealed as a response to this supplication (dua). 33rd Sura, al-Ahzaab, Verse 33 of the Holy Qur'aan 'O Members of the Household of the Holy Prophet, Allah wants to purify you with a thorough purification and keep you free from all kinds of external (zaahir) and internal (baatin) impurities.'

This explains the principal difference between Panjtan Paak, and the rest of the Ahle Bayt. Translation:

Umar bin Abi Salamah (RA) who was brought up by the Prophet ) narrates that when the verse, A ah on y desires to keep a ay a kinds of) i purity fro you, O peop e of the house! the Prophets fa i y) and to tota y purify you, (al-Ahzab 33:33), was revealed to the o y Prophet ) at the ho e of U Sa a ah ), he ) called ati ah ) , asan A) and Husain (RA) and covered them with a cloak. Umm Salama said: "O Prophet of Allah! Am I not one of the members of your family?" The Holy Prophet replied: "You have a good future but only these are the members of my family. O Lord! The members of my family are more deserving." al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, v2, p416 Another version reported by al-Suyuti and Ibn al-Athir follows: Umm Salama said to the Holy Prophet: "Am I also one of them?" He replied: "No. You have your own special position and your future is good." Usdul Ghabah, by Ibn al-Athir, v2, p289 Tafsir al-Durr al-Manthoor, by al-Suyuti, v5, p198

Also, Al-Tabari quotes Umm Salama(ra): I said, "O Prophet of Allah! Am I not also one of your Ahlul-Bayt?" I swear by the Almighty that the Holy Prophet did NOT grant me any distinction and said: "You have a good future." Tafsir al-Tabari, v22, p7 under the commentary of verse 33:33 Now emphasizing that Hazrat Umme Salma is not apart of the Ahle Bayt is incorrect. She is naturally apart of the Household, but she is not a member of the Purified Ahle Bayt (Panjtan Paak).

In view of this verse of the Holy Qur'aan, Hazrath Maulana Hassan Raza Khan Sahib, the younger brother of Ala Hazrath, The Imam of the People of the Sunna (may Allah be well pleased with them both), composed the following verse of poetry in which he says: Unki paaki ka Khudae Paak karta heh bayaan Ayah e tathir se zaahir heh shaane Ahle Bayt The Purity of the Household of the Holy Prophet (Ahl'l Bayt), is spoken of by Allah The Pure

Did the Prophet (saws) ever explain who he considerd his Ahle Bayt? Mubaahila Muslim, Tirmidhi (hassan sahih gharib), al-Hakim, and others narrate the incident when the Christians of Najran argued with the Holy Prophet (saws) Allah revealed Verse 61 of the 3rd Sura, al-i-Imraan: "Say (unto him), Come! Let us gather together - our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves - then let us humbly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie When two opposing schools of thought differ on an issue and when dialogue and debate fails to resolve the dispute, then the solution is a mubaahila or a gathering where the opposing groups supplicate to Allah as follows: O Lord of the Universe! In this dispute give honor to the proper in this matter and disgrace those that are incorrect Sad ibn Abi Waqqas (ra) said Holy Prophet (saws) arrived accompanied by Hazrath Ali and Hazrath Fatimah Zahra (may Allah be well pleased with them both). The Holy Prophet (saws) was carrying Hazrath Imam Hussain in one arm and Hazrath Imam Hassan was holding the other hand of the Holy Prophet (saws) and walking alongside him. When the 'Pure Five' (panjattan paak) arrived for the mubaahila the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) prayed: Allahumma ha ulahe ahle baitihi O Allah! They are my Family He (saws) then said to Hazrath Ali and Hazrath Fatimah Zahra, Hazrath Imam Hussain and Hazrath Imam Hassan (may Allah be well pleased with them all) that when I supplicate to Allah against this opposition you all should say, 'May it be so' (amen). The Holy Prophet (saws) told those priests that they should also supplicate. When the Holy Prophet (saws) said this the Pope exclaimed and told his followers: La tu baahilu fatah le ku Don't partake in this Mubaahila or all of us will be destroyed Surprised at his remarks they asked him as to what had happened to him, since he was in high spirits and confident of defeating the Muslims. He said, 'I swear by God, I had not seen these faces before and I am seeing such faces that if they were to pray to God to move the mountains, God Almighty would move the mountains for them.'

What have we learned so far? 1) The Ahle Bayt is the House hold of the Holy Prophet 2) The Purified Ahle Bayt (Panjtan Paak) is defined by the selection taken by the Holy Prophet In addition to Himself. Now, the sentence of Quran in verse 33:33 related to purification of Ahlul-Bayt, is placed at the middle of verses related to the wives of the Prophet(saw). Now this is the main reason why some Sunnis claim that the wives of the Prophet(saw) are Ahlul Bayt and are also purified. For those who are familiar with the Quran it is an undeniable fact that Allah changes who he addresses very sharp sometimes. I will quote an example to show you were this exact same thing has taken place. ! !) "O Joseph! pass this over and (O wife of Aziz!) ask forgiveness for your sin, for truly you have been at fault."(Quran 12:29) Above, "O wife of Aziz" isn't mentioned and the address to Yusuf(as) seems to continue. However the change of masculine gender to feminine shows that Allah changes his address from Yusuf(as) to the wife of Aziz. Now, both sentences are within the very same ayah. Allah goes from addressing Aziz wife, to Yusuf(as), and back again to the wife in the verses before verse 29 and also within that verse. In Arabic, when a group of women are being addressed, famine gender is used. But if one man exists in the very same group, masculine gender is being used. So if the Quran goes from addressing the wives of Rasulallah(saw), to Imam Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain, and then back to the wives of Rasulallah(saw), that is not strange, since it's the same with the above mentioned verse about Yusuf(as) and Aziz's wife.
