Quidway
S1700 switches (S1700 for short) are next-generation energy-saving Ethernet switches developed by Huawei.
The S1700 supports simple and convenient installation and maintenance, provides abundant services and features, and
helps customers to construct secure, reliable, and high-performance networks. The S1700 can be widely applied in such
scenarios as small enterprises, Internet bars, hotels, and schools.

At present, the S1700 series includes two types of gigabit devices.
New Energy-Saving Design for Low Carbon Communication
The S1700 complies with IEEE 802.3z (Energy Effcient Ethernet) and supports low-power-consumption idle mode so
that it reduces power consumption greatly. In addition, it adopts a fan-free design to reduce noise and save energy.
Flexible Selection of Port Line Speeds
The S1728GWR-4P/S1724G can provide line speed switching capability for all 28/24 ports, ensuring non-blocking
forwarding. The S1728GWR also supports four optical ports, which greatly facilitates the expansion and applications of
users.
Considerate Maintenance-Free Design
Restarting and resetting the S1700 is as simple as one push of a button.
Outstanding Security Performance
The S1700 supports multiple security features, including 802.1x and RADIUS authentication. It also supports MAC
fltering and port isolation, which prevent multiple kinds of network attacks.
Powerful Link Expansion and Backup
The S1700 provides the LACP and STP/RSTP functions to effectively support link expansion and backup.
