1. PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of this document shall be to set minimum standards concerning the supply of potable water
in Rumaila oilfield to assure compliance with ______standards and the Iraq Health Ministry Code.

2. DEFINITIONS:


1.2 Potable Water is water used for personal & public needs in the Rumaila oil field normally.
Examples of uses requiring potable water are: safety showers, eye washes, personal
showers/change rooms, lavatories and sinks. Other acceptable uses for potable water include: toilets,
urinals, equipment coolers, laundry wash water and pad wash down water. Although the potable
water system meets the regulatory definition of potable water, it is not intended for human
consumption. The supply of potable water is provided from chlorinated processed water

3. RESPONSIBILITY

2.1 KE is charged with responsibility of providing potable water to the _______ client bases and to
locations decided in the agreement document

2.2 KE will be responsible for quality of Potable Water & transportation System

2.3 KE will provide health certificate for the supplied potable water with every _______


2.4 The KE Safety Representative shall provide employees and contractors with
information on the Potable Water System so that unauthorized tie-ins and potentially harmful cross-
connections will not occur.


3. PROCEDURE

3.1 KE will provide water in water tanks to client sites and bases.

3.2 As per mutual consensus KE will supply water to main distribution system of client or to various
locations with in the clients facility

3.2.1 Potable Water Supply


a. Free Residual Chlorine will be maintained between 0.2 and 0.5 ppm. KE
will provide chlorination and monitoring to ensure these levels.
b. KE will provide details of water composition

Kindly see the table below:

c. Potable water hoses (without an approved backflow prevention device) shall
not be connected to any process equipment or non-potable system, and shall
not be submerged in any non-potable water or left on the ground. Else KE
will not held responsible for varied water quality.
