Shadowhound Mount Quest

This guide does not include details that are provided in the text of the quest. Instead, it provides travel tips, location
coordinates, time estimates, level requirements, mob levels, and other information to help you get through this quest line.
Required Factions: Martok, Vulmane, Varanthari
Note: I did this entire quest line solo (level 40 Rakurr Shaman) except for the Ceremony of Summoning quest,
where I was joined by a 38 Bard and 29 Ranger. Time to complete quests will vary depending on a variety of
factors (competition for mobs, grouped/solo, level, run speed, Riftway usage, levitate, etc...)

Part 1: ~7 minutes
Location: Gaxton Village (-20870, 13567, 718 in Martok (-20 13)) inside a building.
To Get Here: Use a teleporter to Martok or the Riftway to Wildgrowth Forest

Quest: Shadowhound Counsel (Speak to Muerden)

Part 2: ~15 minutes
Location: Muerdan's Hut (-42630, -81760, 887 in Sundering Wastelands(-19 12)) inside a hut on the water.
To Get Here: Take path, or run across water with Levitate.

Part 3: ~90 minutes, 3 Quests, 75 kills
Location: Shadow's Edge (-42630, 84180, 17235 in Lomshir (-15 -9)) outside a tent.
To Get Here: Use Riftway from Wildgrowth Forest to Lomshir. Run east to Shadow's Edge

To Get Here: Use Lomshir Riftway to Renton Keep, then run south to Camp.

There are 3 quest NPCs here, giving a total of 9 quests, most of which can be done at the same time. One quest
tracks the other 6, which involve killing various mobs.

Worshippers of Alurad. Also kill at least one of the leaders - Telorok, Thaden or Ancestral Revenant)

Part 8: 1 hour 40 minutes, 2 Quests, 75 kills
Location: Wardship of the Sleeping Moon (-5200, 6000, 9894 in Wardship of the Sleeping Moon (-23, 25)) outside
town walls by a big tree.
To Get Here: Use Riftway from Frostway Shard to Ruins of Vol Tuniel, then run north. Or, take the safer route and
follow the path south from Northern Border to Wardship.
Faction: Vulmane
o NPC: Silvermane Alopek
Quest #1: Enemies of Ghalnn's (Kill 25 Worshippers of Vol Anari, 25 Worshippers of Vaelion, and 25
Worshippers of Gloriann. Also kill at least one of the leaders. The Vol Anarie leader is in the cave,
upper left side. The Matron of Gloriann heals herself and is the toughest to kill, by far. The Valion
Captain was fairly easy to kill.
Required level: 29

Shadowhound Trap returned upon completion of quest
Reward: 22 Slot Saddlebag
Time: 90 minutes (30 min travel, 60 min killing) TIP: Take Vol Tuniel Riftway to New Targanor
and start at the Gloriann camp, then work your way back to Wardship.
Quest #2: Nexus of Summoning (Travel back to Nerail Tharazen in Shadow's Rdge, Qalia)
Required Level: 30
Time: 10 minutes (travel - Riftway Vault of Heroes to Lomshir)
Note: This NPC also gives a quest to kill Bloodhowler wolves. This is not required for the
shadowhound mount.
Part 9: ~50 minutes, 2 Quests, ~10 kills
Location: Shadow's Edge (-42630, 84180, 17235 in Lomshir (-15 -9)) outside a tent.
To Get Here: Use Riftway from Vault of Heroes to Lomshir. Run east to Shadow's Edge
o NPC: Nerail Tarazen
Quest: Ceremony of Summoning (kill mobs until you get 6 blood vials. Right-click the 6 skulls in the
cave (stay inside the circle of skulls at all times), then right click the shadowhound trap in your
inventory. Nerail Tarazen spawns with 2 shadowhounds. Ignore the hounds and kill Nerail. When he
dies another shadowhound spawns. Hail him and click "I am now your master". He gives you the
shadowhound summoning collar and sends you back to Muerden near Martok.

Quest: Riding a Shadowhound (Purchase a shadowhound saddle from Muerden for 10 gold)
