Transiton Day
This seemed to go very well in school
with teachers and children beneftng
from spending the whole day together.
Hopefully this has reassured children
about their new teacher but if you
have any concerns please make them
known early and we will endeavour to
do whatever is possible to support
your child.
Parking
We are stll getng complaints from
residents in the Skillman Drive area
about parking in the street. Please take
ever care to ensure you park with con-
sideraton to the householders who
only want to be able to get on and of
their driveways when they need to!
As we come to the end of my frst year at Francis Baily it is tme to wish farewell to
this years leavers. As well as the Year 6 children we also say goodbye to a number
of teachers and several families.
We hope all take away fond memories of their tme here and we wish them the
very best for what comes next.
For the rest of us we look forward to enjoying the holiday and preparing ourselves
for the return to school on Wednesday 3rd September.
During the holidays there will be much work undertaken on improving the school.
As well as the completon of the renovaton of the year 2 classrooms we will also
see a reconfguraton of the internal space in the Foundaton block to create a
third classroom following the issues we have experienced this year. In additon, all
of the school fat roofs will be renewed along with some drains. There will also be
some internal changes to the school kitchen to prepare for the introducton of the
Infant Free Schools meal initatve. The Years 3 and 4 area and classes will be deco-
rated and a range of further smaller works undertaken.
I look forward to welcome everyone back to our improved school and intend to
press forward with further improvements next year.
