Trans Basic Operation:
Transmission is fully electronically
controlled. All upshifts, downshifts,
line pressure control, and TCC
functions are activated through the
use of internal solenoids by the ve-
hicle PCM.
TCC may be applied in all 4 for-
ward gears depending on PCM
calibration.
There is no operating difference
between 4R44E and 4R55E trans-
missions. The 4R55E has internal
differences that include bearings
added to the gear train along with
other changes to increase the load
carrying capacity.
