Respected Sir,
Greetings from Chhattisgarh!

I wish to introduce myself as Vice-Chancellor of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand
Technical University (Chhattisgarh State Government supported University). I was the
Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University, Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Higher
Education Council, Government of Karnataka and Principal of R V College of
Engineering, Bangalore. A brief citation of mine is enclosed for more details.
I am writing an article on Technical Education Scenario in India. I was going
through the website of a couple of colleges. I found BNMIT as one of the best
institutes developed. When I was the Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University, I had an
opportunity to inaugurate one of the conferences in BNMIT. I was surprised to see the
great development and especially in teaching-learning process and the upkeep of the
campus, congratulations!
I am writing this letter to just inform your good-self that, under the caption of
Research in your website, there are 4 centres only in Computer Science &
Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication
Engineering and Mathematics, and the projects are from VTU and VIT only. There
are lot of funding agencies who provide research grants like DST, NRB, LSRB,
ARMDB and more.
Especially under D.S.T. there is a scheme called young scientist scheme where an
amount of about Rs. 25 Lakhs and is under NAWA: research bound by DRDO.
Also I would suggest to state a research program as Centre for Nanotechnology be
started where there is a separate fund available under D.S.T. (in terms of hundreds of
crores). This is an inter-disciplinary area where Civil, Computer Science, Physics,
Chemistry and also Mathematics can be involved together.
I am sure there is lot of scope for research, Industry Institute Partnership and
Entrepreneurship Development in BNMIT.
You have wonderful facilities and excellent teachers like Prof. T J Ramamurthy, who
built R V College of Engineering during its formature period and stabilized many
departments in R V College of Engineering. He was known for his humanitarian
approach and maintained strict discipline in the hostels
In case you need my help in formulating any of the schemes, I will be more than
happy to help BNMIT. Kindly send one young/dynamic teacher from Mechanical
Physics department. I will guide them as to how to start a nanotechnology centre and
get fund for the centre. Am planning to visit Bangalore on 14

programs and propelling in research activities.
