IX .SAND CEREMONY
Kimmie: explains (The Meaning of the Unity Sand Ceremony)- The flowing
sand and blending of the colors in the Unity Sand Ceremony symbolize the
bringing together of two lives into one. The two sands symbolize
everything that the bride and groom have been or will become in the
future. The blending of the sand represents the union not only of them but
their friends and families as well. The separate sands once poured into the
unity vase can never be put back into their separate vases. They are
forever entwined just as the lives and loves of the bride and groom. Some
couples prefer to leave a small amount of sand in their respective
container to show that even though they now function as one, they remain
individuals.

A WEDDING PRAYER
Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow,
for the health, the work, the food,
`Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen. Please be on your feet as we welcome the bridal party. Put
your hands together for our hosts, the mother and father of the bride. As you all know, the day
your little girl gets married is the happiest day of the century for every doting parent and dont
they look radiant? Thank you Brian & Lily Walker, we can see where the bride got her good
looks from. Im not saying which, you both look wonderful tonight. (wide applause)
Parents of the Groom
`And now, here come the parents of the groom, looking happy and proud. Please welcome
Michael & Maria McGregor. Dereks parents just got back from trekking in Nepal to be here for
their sons wedding. A big hand for Michael & Maria McGregor, Parents of the Groom.
Matron of Honor
`And now we come to the Matron of Honor, Meagan McGregor. Its been said that Meagan is
chosen for her ability to outthink, outrun and generally outwrestle anything with up to eight legs
that stands in the way of a smooth-running wedding. In Meagans case, shes also the Brides
Auntie. A tremendous grip on the woman as well! Lets hear it for Auntie Meagan. (wide
applause)
Best Man
`Now we come to our Best Man, Ladies and Gentlemen, Orlando Jones by name. The Best Man
isnt just there to pass the ring to the groom. Hes there to put his body on the line for his best
friend. Greater love hath no man, they say. He also assures us, he really is the best man. We cant
wait for his speech and wise counsel. Lets hear it for Orlando. (wide applause)
(The Bridesmaids and Groomsmen)
`Now we come to the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. They are the understudies for the Bride and
Groom. If the Bride and Groom chickened out, itd be two of you tying the knot in their place!
Theres a sobering thought.
First Bridesmaid
`So without further ado and just a little nepotism, we have Winonas younger sister Emmeline
Walker our first bridesmaid. Gentlemen, Emmeline is single and taking a break from her career
as a ballerina to concentrate on bringing home a gold medal at the next Olympics for gymnastics.
Lets hear it for wee Emmeline! (wide applause)
Second Bridesmaid
`Our second bridesmaid, Mary Jo Zimakowski has known Winona since they were in high school
together and as usual, Mary Jo says she has Winonas back. Lets hear it for Mary Jo. (more
applause)
Third Bridesmaid
`Our last bridesmaid has watched `Twenty Seven Dresses five times. This is her twelfth time as
a bridesmaid and shes running out of wardrobe space. Lets hear it for Daniela Pavelic. Hope
you catch the bouquet Daniela. (wide applause)
First Groomsman
`Our first groomsman is Michael McGregor Junior. Michael, or Junior as big brother Derek calls
him, is seventeen. Hes single, six foot four and 250 pounds. His interests are rap music and
wrestling. Dont anyone let him near a microphone tonight, folks. Lets hear it for Junior. (wide
applause)
Second Groomsman
`Our next groomsman is Jim Mellor. Our Jimmys a hairdresser who specializes in some of the
more exotic punk rock styles you might see in the music industry. Imagine a cross between
Salvador Dali and Edward Scissorhands. Jimmy also did our brides hair tonight. Nice job, by the
way. A big hand for our second Groomsman! (applause)
Third Groomsman
`Our last groomsman, Alan Peterson has known our Groom, Derek ever since they got arrested
for brawling at a football match over ten years ago. Its amazing the things that bring people
together. Lets have a big hand for Alan our third groomsman.
Entrance of the Bride and Groom
`And now the big moment, Ladies and Gentleman, our bride and groom Winona and Derek!
Doesnt she look beautiful? Shes been practising her bouquet-throwing and hopes to give a good
account of herself when the moment comes. As for the groom, look at him! He scrubs well for a
guy who gets into football brawls, doesnt he? Ladies and Gentleman, a big hand for Winona and
Derek!. (wide applause)
the running of the bulls at Pamplona, its a little similar. Theres always a little risk for the lasses
determined to get the bouquet in their clutches. Its also the real reason you see so many high
heels shoes tonight. As you know, traditionally the young lady who successfully catches the
bouquet in mid-flight is a certainty to make her own way down the aisle.
Id like to request all the single ladies to step forward for the bouquet throw. The married ladies
whove sneaked on, dont be greedy. This is for single women only. Our lovely and charming
bride Winona has been practising this throw all summer, so give yourselves some elbow room.
(to the bride) `Winona, if youd be so kind..
(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee bravely motions all the
single ladies forward)
`Ladies take your place behind the bride and be prepared to jump high. Fortune favors the brave!
At the count of three, the bride will throw her bouquet. Ladies and gentlemen, lets all count
together.
Are you ready Ladies? Would you just look at the concentration. Theres some determined
women out there. The countdown! One, Two, Three! What a throw, ladies and gentlemen.
(Bride throws the bouquet and it is caught)
We have a winner! Well have the Best Man cleaned and brought to your table later.
Garter Toss
Ladies and Gentlemen, heres where things get serious. Its time for
the Garter toss. I understand some of the guys jumping for the garter
have been in training for months. Underneath those tuxedos, were
talking washboard abs, bulging biceps, nerves of steel. Weve got
Olympic gymnasts, high-jumpers, Morris dancers. These guys are
ripped and ready to rumble! Remember gentlemen this is serious
business. The guy who catches the garter is destined for the altar next!
Now while the groom retrieves the garter, dont let any of those garter jumpers melt into the
crowd.
We have the garter. Get ready gentlemen.
(Groom throws the garter and it is caught)
We have another winner! We have the next groom. I hope that preacher hasnt left the room.
Lets hear it for our winners. (wide applause)

Bob: The two doves signify Tibor and Maricel being released to start a new journey together. Like
the two pairs of dove, whatever happens they will always try to seek the comfort of each other and

mate for life, and signifies love, faithfulness, joy and hope.
Tibor and Maricel are now ready so we will now release the doves. At the count of three, release
the doves. Ready when you are...one...two... three and off... they go!!! That was really beautiful.
Family has been our source of comfort, support and inspirations. Tibor and Maricel are truly blessed
with such wonderful family and friends. When it comes to knowing what marriage is all about, in
behalf of bride's family, may I call on Mr. Dionesio Celmar and Mrs. Aida Celmar, the father and

speeches for our newly-wed couple. The chosen guests who get the stickers with color white under
their chairs, will either sing or dance tribute for our newlywed while for people who get color pink
will give their impromptu speeches and wishes for our newly-wed couple. It's going to be like truth
and consequences.
Thank you so much. Let us again give them a big hand for such wonderful and meaningful speeches
and beautiful song and dance numbers
Evelyn: May I now request Tibor and Maricel to do the honors of cutting the wedding cake.
(Newlyweds come forward to cut the cake.)
There you have ladies and gentlemen, the cake has been cut.

GRACE before meals: Nang Aileen
Just before DINNER
All right, dinner is served. But not so fast, ladies and gentlemen. First you have to prove you
deserve this sumptuous feast by proving to us all that you know a little something about the
Bride and the Groom. So heres the mechanics of this little pre-dinner game. You are grouped
according to your table. Each table has a name corresponding to every little adventure Raymund
and Valerie have experienced. I give out a Trivia Question and one member from each table
stands up, shouts out the table name, and is given the chance to answer. If the answer is correct,
then congratulations! Your table gets to approach the buffet table first! Val, Raymund, you
watch out for who stands up first. If the first answer is wrong, the other tables get a chance to
steal. Ok? Is that clear enough? All set?
DINNER
May I have your attention please. While you are eating to your tummys content, the newlyweds
would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone personally for your presence. As your table
is called, please approach Raymund and Valeie to have your picture taken. Simultaneously, our
beautiful Bridesmaids will be distributing wedding giveaways and passing along the guest book
so please stand by in your seats.

chance to share something special with you..
-
Okay. So are you guys done with the main course? Ready to go for dessert? By all means, help
yourself.
Speaking of dessert, its now time for the traditional Cake Cutting by the Bride and Groom.
Raymund, Valerie, can you guys join me here..
There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The cake has been cut. May I now request the waiters
to please serve the cake to our guests.
Happy Marriage Secrets. Each time the guests cling their glass for the couple to kiss,
the couple would kiss and the MC would have them call on another married couple to share their
secret to a happy marriage and then kiss.
BOUQUET THROW
-
P.s.
It drizzled during dinner. We didnt let that dampen our spirits though. Of course, the chair
covers got wet, hence, the naked chairs. =)

V. TRADITIONS
A wedding is not complete without traditions. We would like to move on to the first
tradition, the cutting of the cake.
1. Cutting of the Cake
May we request Groom and Bride to prepare for the cake cutting ceremony. The
cake, which has been a part of wedding celebrations since the Roman times, is a
symbol of good luck and fertility. The sharing of this food symbolizes the couple's
willingness to fulfill each other's needs, creating a bond so simple and yet so strong.
Before we proceed to the next tradition, may we call on ____ and ____ to share more
of their personal experiences with the newlyweds.
Speech from friends commences.
2. Champagne Toast
Our next tradition is the champagne toasting. Raising a glass together is a way for
everyone to share in wishing good health and happiness to the newlyweds. As the
champagne is poured, our newlyweds now make wishes for their good fortune, a
better future and the best life possible for them. We would like to invite everyone to
raise their glasses to Groom and Bride and join them in their fervent wishes through
good fellowship and camaraderie, love and happiness.
May we now call on the Best man, Mr. ________, to lead the champagne toasting.
3. Tossing of the garter/ Cake charms/ Tossing of the bouquet <sample idea>
Instead of the traditional way of tossing of the garter, we have something different.
May ask our team assistants to proceed to the assigned areas to distribute balloons
to all the single bachelors. The single bachelors should pop the balloon. There is one
balloon that contains the garter and whoever gets that balloon is out lucky bachelor.
Team assistant, please escort the lucky bachelor to the second floor.
While the gentlemen are popping the balloons, may we call on all the single ladies
to proceed to the second floor to get the cake charms. Team assistants, please
round up all the single women and escort them to the second floor.
(After the cake charms)
Ladies, please stay within the area as we now moving on to the tossing of the
bouquet. This tradition has been done over the years and is meant that whoever
catches the bouquet would have luck and protection. Nowadays, it has simply
evolved to imply that whoever caught the bouquet would be lucky and would be
wed next. So now may we ask all the single ladies to occupy the designated area
before you for the ceremonial tossing of the bouquet. The single ladies will form a
circle and we will do a trip to Jerusalem bouquet tossing. We will play music and as
the music stops, whoever is holding the bouquet, is the lucky lady.

momentous occasion with Groom and Bride. We do hope that all of you had a great
time. This is ____ and ____ signing off. Good afternoon everyone and Let's Party!!!
I. GATHERING WORDS
On behalf of the two of them, I thank you for being here today
They are so happy that you have come to share in their excitement
By your presence, you celebrate with them the love they have discovered in each other
And you support their decision to commit themselves to a lifelong relationship
Marriage is perhaps the greatest and most challenging adventure of human relationships. No
ceremony can create a relationship that does not already exist and has not already been
acknowledged in all the commitments you have made to each other, both large and small. A
ceremony is a symbol of how far you have come together and a symbol of the promise that you
will make to each other. What this ceremony can do is to witness and affirm the choice you
make to stand together as lifemates and partners, to continue to live your lives together and to
love each other wholly.
Marriage is a bond to be entered into only after considerable thought and reflection.
After six years Brides name & Grooms name are ready to take the next step, to make this
commitment.
Today, they demonstrate their devotion to each other by dedicating themselves to a life together
And they show their respect for each other by setting forth to honor the vows they have created
Today, their lives, which began on separate paths, will be joined as one
I have three suggestions that I will offer to you, Brides name and Grooms name;
First, be constantly grateful for the presence of this precious person who has chosen to make a
life with you.
Officiant: Will you who are present here today, surround Brides name and Grooms name in
love, offering them the joys of your friendship, and supporting them in their marriage?
All: We will
Officiant You may be seated. [Audience sits]
Will you promise to care for each other in the joys and sorrows of life, come what may,
And to share the responsibility for growth and enrichment of your life together?
Then please turn to each other and share the vows you have written.
VII. VOWS
Grooms Vows:
Brides Vows:
For thousands of years, lovers have exchanged rings as a token of their vows. Let these rings be
a sign that love has a past, a present, and a future, through you and within you. The promises
which you have spoken to each other today are forever in your minds and hearts, but words are
fleeting and so those who marry wear rings as visible, tangible symbols of their love and
commitment. These rings announce to the world that you have recognized in each other your
souls mate. That you have entwined together to become one and that it is inconceivable that you
should ever part.
Groom, take Brides ring, place it on her finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring as a sign that I choose you and as a reminder that I will always love you.
[Groom repeats]
To be my lover, my partner and my best friend, to the end of my days [Groom repeats]
Wear it, think of me, and know that I love you [Groom repeats]
With this ring I take you to be my trusted confidante and partner for life. [Groom repeats]
Bride, take Grooms ring, place it on his finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring as a sign that I choose you and as a reminder that I will always love you.
[Bride repeats]
To be my lover, my partner and my best friend, to the end of my days [Bride repeats]
Wear it, think of me, and know that I love you [Bride repeats]
With this ring I take you to be my trusted confidante and partner for life. [Bride repeats]
IX. HANDFASTING
Bride , take Grooms hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you:
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love,
that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life.
Now Groom, please take Brides hands, palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you:
These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young, and carefree,
that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to love you all the days of her life.
Now, please join hands so that they may be fasted in the ways of old. Your hands will form the
eternity symbol, visually demonstrating that your love will always be present and will run
between the two of you throughout the years.
Remember then as your hands are fasted, these are not the ties that bind, but are rather cords that
signify the uniting of two lives into one.
Your marriage also signifies the joining of two families. I ask that Brides sister name &
Grooms brother name come to tie the fabric around Groom and Brides joined hands.
These are the hands that will hold you whenever illness, fear, or grief may find you.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will give you support and encourage you to chase your dreams.
Together, everything you wish for can be realized.
These are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours.
Bless these hands that you see before you this day.
May they always reach out with love, gentleness, and respect.
May they build a loving relationship that lasts a lifetime.
May they always be held by one another.
If you follow these words and heed this sacred binding,
your hands will heal, protect, shelter, and guide.
Now, you may remove the cords,
but remember the knot as a lasting symbol of your binding and commitment
No one but you can declare yourselves married. You have begun it here today in speaking your
vows before your family and friends and you will do it again in the days and years to come,
standing by each other, sharing all the sweet and the bitter of life. Each tender act, each loving
word, will be the declaration of what was made here today.
In the honesty and sincerity of what you have said and done here today,
And in accordance with the laws of the state of Colorado
It is my honor and delight to declare you
To be husband and wife
You may seal your vows with a kiss
XI. BENEDICTION
Now, may the love that has brought you together continue to grow and enrich your lives
May you meet with courage the problems that arise to challenge you
And may your relationship always be one of love and trust.
I proudly introduce to you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. his name & my name Last Name.
