RECRUITMENT FOR COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENT IN ASSAM RIFLES
Applications should reach by 30 January 2015.
Applications received after 30 January 2015 will not be entertained.
1.
Assam Rifles recruitment rally for COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENT will be held at
Shillong, (Meghalaya), NRS- Guwahati from 10 Mar 2015 onwards for enrolment of
64 vacancies (male candidates) for RIFLEMAN (GENERAL DUTY) post only.
General

Next of Kins (NOKs)/dependents of ASSAM RIFLES personnel who DIED WHILE IN
SERVICE OR DISCHARGED FROM SERVICE ON MEDICAL GROUNDS ARE ELIGIBLE
FOR COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENT. The object of the scheme is to grant appointment
on compassionate grounds to a dependent family member of a Government servant dying in
harness or who is discharged from service on medical grounds (attributable to service),
thereby leaving his family in penury and without any means of livelihood.
Applicability
3.
Compassionate Appointment is applicable as per priority to only ONE dependent family
member of Assam Rifles personnel who:(a)
Priority 1.
Is killed in action.
(b)
Priority 2.
Dies while in service (including death by suicide).
(c)
Priority 3. Is retired on medical grounds under Rule 2 of the CCS (Medical
Examination) Rules 1957 or the corresponding provision in the Central Civil Service
Regulations before attaining the age of 55 years (57 years for erstwhile Group 'D' Govt
servants).
(d)
Priority 4. Is retired on medical grounds under Rule 38 of the CCS (Pension)
Rules, 1972 "Invalid pension may be granted if a Govt servant retires from the service
on account of any bodily or mentally infirmity which permanently incapacitates him for
the service " or the corresponding provision in the Central Civil Service Regulations
before attaining the age of 55 years (57 years for erstwhile Group 'D' Govt servants).
(e)
Priority 5.
Is medically boarded out and is unfit for civil employment.
(f)
Priority 6. - Missing Government Servant.
Cases
of
missing
Government servants are also covered under the scheme for compassionate
appointment as per existing policies.
Dependent Family Member
4.
The following constitute Dependent Family Member:(a)
Son (including adopted son), or
(b)
Brother in the case of unmarried Govt employee who was wholly dependent on
him at the time of death in harness or retirement on medical grounds, as the case may
be.

5.
Time Limit of Application.
(a)
The Government servant who died/discharged on medical grounds WITHIN
LAST FIVE YEARS of the application received at this Directorate will be considered for
the appointment based on financial and other eligible factors.
(b)
Applications which are already received at this Directorate need not to apply
again and if found genuine CALL LETTER will be issued accordingly.
(c)
Candidates who want to apply under this scheme will required to submit their
application to this Directorate within one month of advertisement and one and half
months for hilly and far flung areas as notified.
NB:- Just applying under this scheme will not confirm that CALL LETTER will be
issued to the candidate and same will be depend on verification at our end with respect
to service particulars of the personnel and other factors like age, educational criteria
and financial condition of the candidates .

7.
CANDIDATE BELONGING TO THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED CATEGORY ARE
NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS EXAMINATION.
8.
APPLICATION FOR COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENT be endorsed on top of the
cover under which the application is being submitted.
9.
Applications will be accepted by post/hand.
10.
MOBILES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE BANNED WITHIN THE
PREMISES OF RALLY SITES/TEST CENTRE.
11.
Qualitative Requirement. The qualitative requirement (QR) for Rifleman (General
Duty) are as under:(a)
Education. Matriculation or equivalent.
(b)
Age. Between 18 to 23 years as on 1st Jan 2015. Upper age limit is relaxable
by 3 years to OBC and 5 years to SC/ST candidates.
