1 Overall Aims of Course

Provide students with the fundamental methods to analyze and understand


DC and AC electric circuits.
To understand the principle of electromechanical energy conversion
To provide students with the necessary foundation in electrical machines
To understand the construction, types, principles of operation and equivalent circuit of
the different D.C. machines.
To understand the construction, basic principles, equivalent circuit, voltage regulation
and efficiency of transformers.
