NCL
[What were about]
Were
a studentrun advocacy group campaigning for safe, convenient cycle infrastructure on routes
across the city with a specific focus on those used on a daily basis by students.
We want to represent students views on local cycling issues and ensure that they are adequately
taken into account in local authority decision making. Through our activities we aim to improve
students engagement with cycling issues and encourage those who dont currently use a bike
regularly to do so.
We want to break down the barriers that currently prevent large numbers of students using a bike in
the
city.
[Plans for this term]
We have three objectives we want to achieve by the end of the year 1 Expand the core group of
people passionate about our cause.2 Establish ourselves as a university society.3 Progress two
of our planned student cycling infrastructure projects.
[How you can get involved]
We need your ideas help us identify what the students of Newcastle want and need!
We need your time and energy for campaigning, driving interest in our cause, attending meetings
to help align our strategy with other organisations, collecting data to base our policies on and, of
course, for fundraising.
Finally, we need your experience events, web/graphics design, social media, campaigning, baking,
marketing if you know how to do it, well probably find a use for it!
Basically we need you to make Newcastle a better place for students. Get in touch!
