I hope that by now you have received an additional
letter from me with details about viewing the solar
eclipse. The last chance to buy viewers is today
(Wednesday).
Lets hope it is a clear day on Friday so we can enjoy
this amazing phenomena - even if it isnt, we will still
enjoy it!
COMIC RELIEF
- FRIDAY 13TH
MARCH
We had great fun
on Friday...thank
you for sending
the children in
with their red
noses, etc.
Thank you also
to the Year 4
children (and
their parents) for
preparing a
fantastic cake sale. The children were delighted to have
raised an impressive 224. Thank you and well done!
WORLD BOOK DAY
With the final pictures now sent in, we have a really fun
display in the entrance area in school that shows where
our children have been enjoying their extreme reading.
Thank you for all the work and imagination that has
gone into this work which has helped us celebrate
World Book Day. It is wonderful to see so many children
having a look at the display and talking about it - I would
like to encourage you to have a look if you get time, or
when you are in school next week during parents
evenings.
We are selecting a winner from each class and an
overall winner from the school - these will be
announced at the end of the week.
EASTER EGG RAFFLE
This is the last week that we will be
running the Lions Easter Egg raffle already we have sold lots of squares. We
will be making the draw at the end of the
week in our celebration assembly - last
chance to buy your tickets!
PARENTS EVENINGS
We are very much looking forward to
seeing you in school next week (after
school on Tuesday and Wednesday) to
speak to us about the progress your
children have made in the year so far.
School governors and I will also be on
hand if you wish to raise any issues or
concerns, or indeed to celebrate any
achievements you are proud about. Refreshments will
also be served in the school hall.
FOX HOWL
The Y2 children are looking forward to their residential
visit - by the time you read this letter, they will be
enjoying all the planned activities in Delamere Forest. I
am delighted to be accompanying the children this year
and staying over night. It is wonderful to work with
children in a different environment. I know that some
children (and parents) may be anxious about the
residential. I would like to reassure you that the Fox
Howl Centre is a fantastic start to residential
experiences and that the school staff will look after your
children as if they were their own.
SPORTS
Report from Mr Ault: Last Tuesday saw the Y5 and Y6s
take on Lostock Primary in a fantastic game oftag
rugby. The game went back and forth with each team
matching each other try for try. The team played well
and tries came from Ella, Harry, Esme, Sam and Owen.
I was very impressed with Chloe who never stopped
running! The match finished 11-10 in favour of
Sandiway. Next week sees our Y3 and Y4 footballers
travel to Lostock in a highly anticipated match.
