ABOUT EEMUA
Who we are: EEMUA, the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association, is an
international non-profit membership organisation representing member companies across
a wide spectrum of industries: chemicals, food and pharmaceuticals manufacturing, both
upstream and downstream oil & gas exploration and production, power generation and
distribution, steelmaking, bulk storage & distribution, utilities, and more.
What our members have in common: All EEMUA member companies have industrial
assets to manage, and these are usually safety-critical assets and/or facilities that are critical to
a countrys national infrastructure.
Our aims: EEMUA aims to improve the safety, environmental and operating performance
of industrial facilities in the most cost-effective way, developing and promoting leadership in
industrial asset management.
Our work: EEMUA Members pursue these aims by sharing engineering experiences
and expertise, and by the promotion of their distinct interests as the users of engineering
products. EEMUA provides an organisation within which networking, information sharing
and collaboration among users on non-competitive technical matters can take place. The
Association works to inuence the way regulations are interpreted and applied in practice,
to promote members views to suppliers and others, to encourage the application of good
sound engineering practices, and to participate in the development of industry guidance,
training schemes and formal Standards.

Specification for structural castings for use offshore

In the construction of steel offshore platforms, cast nodes and lifting points
may offer technical and/or economic advantages in manufacture compared
with fabricated items. However they must be comparable to fabricated
items in terms of geometrical accuracy, weldability, and mechanical strength
and toughness. Aimed at suppliers and purchasers alike, this specification
sets out the requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of
carbon-manganese steel castings for use as structural members of offshore
platforms, principally for North Sea conditions. Chemical and mechanical

Courses are available in English, Dutch and French

The TankIntro course provides an overview of above ground steel storage
tanks and the risks they pose. Attendees will gain an appreciation of the need
for tank integrity assessment, why it is done, and what is involved, without
going into detailed calculations. TankIntro is recommended for all levels of
employees including technicians, managers and graduate or other engineers
who are just starting to work with tanks.
The TankAssessor course describes many key features of tank design and
common in-service problems. It also identifies actions to avoid or remedy
operational problems. TankAssessor is suitable for qualified engineers
and operational personnel with several years relevant experience, and who
want to better understand, or become certified as competent, in assessing
the integrity of storage tanks. A refresher course is available for those who
require re-certification.
The TankStrategies course deals with the theory of Probabilistic Preventive
Maintenance (PPM), which is based on the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)
and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodologies, and their
implementation for storage tanks. TankStrategies is for maintenance
engineers, managers, inspection and other personnel who want to better
understand, or gain certification, in assessing the integrity of tank storage
facilities, and be able to calculate and make operational recommendations
throughout tank life.
