Direct laser engraving is a
technology which time has
clearly arrived. There are
good reasons why it is preferable to other CTP methods:
Process steps
Some conventional processes require many different
steps to create a flexo-printing form. With the Stork
Neos, Helios, Agrios and
Morpheus direct laser engraving systems there is effectively only one: the laser
engraving itself. This obviously simplifies and accelerates
the production process.
Speed
Agrios is the fastest laser
engraver of flexo-printing
forms on the market.
Economical
Consumable use
is highly reduced.
There is no film
consumption of
U.V.-lights, ink or
other chemicals.
And the engraving
process itself requires
no water, so you don't have
a 'wet area' in your production
facility.

system and the precise focus
of the beam lead to sharper
engraved edges and an
extreme fine reproduction of
details. Agrios patented multibeam laser technology can
achieve particularly high

would typically include separate units for UV exposure,
chemical washing, drying and
after exposure. With Stork
direct laser engraving, all
these are replaced by a single engraving unit, which
requires an average of 30%
less floorspace. Space
savings with the Morpheus
621X are even higher,
because you have a rotary
textile screen and flexo plate
engraver rolled into one.

direct engraving systems
high- end functionality, setting
a new engraving standard for
simple workflow, quality and
productivity for labels and
packaging.
The FlexoPOWER pre-processing software takes in normalised data, produced data
by an existing workflow,
generates customer defined
dot-shapes and outputs to
Stork engraving systems.
Software workflow
The Neos, Agrios, Helios and
Morpheus systems are supplied with FlexoPOWER
image preprocessing software. This software
gives the user exceptional levels of control in defining dot
shape and sharpness. The plateau,
image area, shoulder angle, undercut,
relief depth and base
size can be precisely specified in this powerful yet easyto-use package.
Developments have been
made especially for the production of sleeves and plates.
The software therefore
supports multiple
repeat views with
pixel correct viewing
of repeats including
connections.
FlexoPOWER is an interactive connecting software
module for flexo pre-processing. It links existing front-end
and RIP applications to Stork
engraving systems.
The software runs on
a Windows platform
under single and multiple
processor architecture. Full
64 bit support for all functions
is a standard.
