We confirm that the BASF Textile Chemicals listed in the Annex Products can be used for the processing of
textiles that meet the requirements set out in Section 1 to 3 of Levi Strauss & Co. policy document: Restricted
Substances List RSL; Levi Strauss & Co. RSL Version: November 2013. Please note that the Annex
indicates which of the products have restricted suitability (e.g. textiles for babies, children, Japanese market).
The abovementioned confirmation is given provided that the chemicals are applied in accordance with BASF
recommendations and/or industry standards for chemical applications throughout the textile industry.
Processors particular attention is drawn to the notes which appear in the Annex. For further details or
information please contact our sales team.
The list contains only selected products which are confirmed to be compliant to RSL. For any unlisted BASF
products please check with our local sales team to confirm the compliance.

Please be aware that the product is used as catalyst in resin finish. The product shall be considered together
with the corresponding resin finish process that may impose limitations for the finished textile. Provision is the
application in accordance with BASFs recommendations and/or industry standards for chemical applications
throughout the textile industry.

The BASF products can be used for processing textiles that meet the requirements. The application is limited
to:
- Textile articles with formaldehyde limit value of < 75 ppm formaldehyde (Standard EN ISO 14184 1).
Based on the experience, BASF is aware that procedures can be developed by the customer which
result in formaldehyde levels of < 65 ppm in the finished textiles (EN ISO 14 184-1).

- Textile articles with formaldehyde limit value of <16 ppm (Standard EN ISO 14184-1) when applied
under specific recommended conditions.
