Understanding Underground Electric Transmission Cables - EEP

There are two main types of underground electric transmission cables. Pipe-type cables have fluid or gas circulating through a pipe to manage heat and insulate the cables, while solid dielectric cables require no fluids or gas. Underground cables differ from overhead lines in that they are more expensive to construct and maintain due to technical challenges around insulation and heat dissipation.
