Philemon Study: A Lesson On Forgiveness

Paul wrote a letter to Philemon asking him to forgive Onesimus, Philemon's former slave who had run away. Paul explained that Onesimus had become a believer after meeting Paul in prison. While Paul could have demanded forgiveness, he respectfully asked Philemon to take Onesimus back not as a slave but as a beloved brother in Christ. Paul expressed confidence that Philemon would go beyond what was required and forgive and reconcile with Onesimus.
